Taiwan - Origins of The Shrinking Virus
🕑 Added 2022-10-31 08:00:05 +0000 UTCThis story takes place a few months before the shrinking virus pandemic, to the best of your knowledge - shrinking is sci-fi.
——————————-
You heard and read about a phenomenon in Taiwan where tourists are disappearing. Just in the last year 174 tourists never made it home, weird enough - all tourists were males, there were even testimonies of couples who went there and only the women returned, claiming their husbands just disappeared.
As a documentary hobbyist, you wanted to go and investigate, find the root of this phenomenon and understand what’s happening.
Using Google translate, you started chatting with many different people that live in areas where most disappearances happened, but you couldn’t find any leads, so you’ve decided to just go for it and bought tickets to Taipei, packed up your filming gear and went out there.
———————
Once you landed, you noticed that there are absolutely no tourists, everyone was probably too scared to visit, you tried to imitate the steps of those who disappeared, you’ve investigated it for months and suspected that almost all of them passed through a small village called Shihding, so you used public transportation to get there.
You walked around with your backpack, ever since you landed everyone was staring at you, they probably haven’t seen a tourist for a while, and in this village the staring were even more awkward, you walked around trying to find anything suspicious or interesting enough to film.
After a few hours of walking around you just had no idea what you were doing, you sat on a bench and tried to think.
A beautiful local woman came by and sat next to you. She was wearing a mask, you haven’t seen one since the Covid pandemic, it made you smile, it’s a distant village not some big city why would she wear a mask.
You looked at her and waved, “Nihao”, you said.
“I speak English”, she said in a heavy Chinese accent.
“Oh, sorry”, you felt embarrassed, like maybe you hurt her.
“It’s ok, I love tourists”, she said and you could tell by her eyes that she was smiling, you smiled back.
“Sometimes you shrink, I love it”, she added, you smiled and nodded, thinking you just didn’t hear right, you changed the subject.
“Have you seen more tourists? I’m trying to understand where those who disappeared”, you said, trying your luck, who knows.
“Yes, I know”, she replied casually.
You opened your eyes in surprise but figured she just answers by instinct and has no idea what you even said, “oh really? You know?” You asked and chuckled, you felt like you’re talking with a kid by now.
“Yes, they are in my home, you want to see?” She got closer, you didn’t mind, she looks good.
Why not go with her, it’s not that you have any lead or anything interesting to do.
“Sure, where are we going?”
“Come, very close”, she said and got up.
You followed her for maybe 15 minutes of walking, then entered an old building, and she opened a small apartment. As you entered she removed her mask and smiled to you, she looked much better without it, you smiled back and nodded.
You looked around, the salon had a glass table, you placed your backpack down next to it, then the stranger got very close to your face, “you want to come with me and I show you?” You got a bit alarmed by how close she is to your face so you took a step back.
“Yes of course”, you replied.
You walked with her to her bedroom, there she lifted off a sheet and you couldn’t explain what you are looking at:
An aquarium, inside were what you first thought are bugs, but you looked at bit closer and figured these are actually human beings, all males, at first they all covered their eyes because of the sudden light, but the moment they noticed you they all started jumping and waving, they ran to the aquarium wall and started banging on it.
You were shocked, staring at them.
“What.. what is this…” you mumbled.
“The tourists!” She exclaimed with a smile, then got closer to you again, she looked at your face and giggled, breathing on you.
You pushed her gently aside and kept staring at the aquarium, “but.. there are maybe 30 here… and there are almost 200 missing”.
“Yes, they are not here anymore”, she explained.
You started getting back to your senses, you realized you have to film this, and maybe you have to do it fast, you turned back and quickly walked to your backpack, with shaky hands you got your phone out and entered Facebook, you clicked to start a live video but then a weird feeling and chills crawled through your body and the phone fell down and slid down the table, falling on its screen.
You wanted to bend down and reach it but then you felt your upper body going numb, you turned back slowly, shaking, you saw the stranger putting her mask back on, then watching you and giggling.
You tried to talk, but a shaken stutter came out, “k..kk…”
“It’s ok, you shrink now”, she said and got closer, started removing her shoes.
You opened your eyes in panic and followed her movements, you managed to fight the numbness and move just a little, but it didn’t help you, you slowly saw how everything is getting bigger, your backpack, the glass table, the room, and her…
The Taiwanese stranger slowly grew to be a colossal giantess, she started removing her socks as well, dropping them nearby, you were so small when she dropped the last sock it felt like something huge was falling from the sky.
You were the size of a bug, standing on the floor next to your backpack and clothes, you could finally move again although your view was blurry and not focused, you slowly climbed up your clothes, and watched her, she was looking down to you, towering up to the horizon like the biggest skyscraper you’ve ever seen, she started giggling, then bent down and picked you up, you were facing her, trembling in fear, none of it felt real, it didn’t make any sense.
“Aquarium is full, so sorry”, she said, her voice boomed and you felt her sound in your chest, then she dropped you over the glass table, she walked around it and sat on the sofa, you were on all fours, trying to calm down your panic attack and figure out what to do.
*THUD*
Her foot landed next to you, you quivered in fear and she started laughing, you looked at her in terrified eyes, then you started feeling the horrible smell of her foot, it was nasty and sweaty, so strong you felt like it’s penetrating your skin, you started crawling backwards, trying to get as far as you could from this giant foot.
While laughing, she lifted her foot up and gently placed it on you, pushing you into the glass, you squirmed helplessly, her foot sweat started pouring over you and over the glass, you couldn’t breath, with no other choice you started sipping it, swallowing her putrid foot sweat and you couldn’t even use your lungs to cough it out.
She released her grab, you went back to all fours, started coughing and adjusting your breath, swallowing remains of gravy foot sweat that were still stuck in your throat, you looked backwards and saw her foot is still above you, laying on its heel, you pathetically started crawling forward trying to get away but you slipped over her sweat, fell on your face, before you could try and crawl again, her foot landed on your back, she started twisting it, she tried to be gentle but *crack*.
Your leg broke and ripped off, you screamed in pain but she continued twisting it, *crack* your left arm broke and ripped off, being crushed completely like a chip’s crumb.
You couldn’t scream anymore, you were about to faint, making quick and weak breaths, then she bent forward, adding massive pressure to her foot.
*CRACK*
You were pulverised, your bones crushed to dust, blood splattered over the glass, she twisted her foot a bit more, producing more little cracks by crushing your remains, she lifted her foot up and giggled, uncovering a bloody pulp of broken bones and smashed meat, grabbed a moisturized tissue and started cleaning you off her foot, then cleaned the table and threw it away.
———————
It was all caught on camera, streamed on your Facebook account, people watched it and couldn’t explain what they are looking at, thought it’s some kind of CGI or a very sophisticated editing, the video passed on social media, became a big hit on WhatsApp and Telegram. Especially in giantess fetishist communities across the globe, everyone was asking who made it, they wanted more of it, “it looks so real” everyone kept saying.
By the time people figured it’s actually real, and the shrinking virus started to go viral and cause international panic, your phone was dead and no one could track your last location.
————————
That stranger, Salome, was the first to get infected with the shrinking virus, she didn’t know why or how it happens, she just thought she had special powers that causes tourists to shrink when she’s breathing on them. For some reason the variant she was carrying had no effect on locals.
She had no idea she’s slowly starting a global pandemic by infecting women who carried on the disease around the world.
The virus was very sneaky and hard to catch, 90% of the infected women were “passive carriers”, they might be able to only infect other women but no men, and only 10% of the women were dangerously infectious, so it was simply impossible to find it’s root and it just kept spreading and spreading until a global outbreak occurred.
As for Salome, no one ever found out about her, she kept having her fun with the tourists she already caught.
——————-
Ending October with a special story, hope you liked it and the collage, and hopefully - it made you all believe that the shrinking virus is not that far fetched and a little more realistic.
Thanks for the support and I hope you’ll stay with me for another month 🥂
