Big update for you of what’s been going on aboard Holly Blue over the last 10 days…..
Lots of sunny spring walks and songwriting (Laura!)…..she is loving our new Shure microphone which we saved up all the funds from you guys membership/patron pledges to buy! THANKYOU!! This now means way better sound quality for voiceovers and soon we will see the appearance of original-written tracks by Laura in our episodes!
Ross made Ronnie a scratch post out of rope and an old paddle end after he took a liking to the leather sofa covers 🙈🙈🙈
We have more solar on order so that we will have the ability to catch the sun for energy at all times of the day (not just peak hours) by hanging it whichever side the sun is rising and setting at anchor….this will mean we can have sufficient power all day to charge the battery and no need to start the engine - this will also power our fans throughout the peak summer months.
We have been hanging space-savers all over the boat for annoying things like dishwashing utensils, plastic re-usable bags, dishcloths, sunglasses, clothes and shoes.
Laura has been making Holly Blue more ‘homely’ with handmade door plaques and hanging her mandala gel-pen creations.
Ross has been doing ‘Team Building’ sessions with the boys in a local park (he has completed an outdoor instructor course at college in the past).
The boys have been joining Laura for her workout sessions and she has been maintaining their kickboxing practise with lessons and will be collaborating with their coach in Cyprus so that we can hopefully get them assessed for belts remotely! Laura used to manage a martial arts gym, was a muai Thai fighter (sparring level) & taught bag blast back in the Uk years ago so she is well-practised!
Ronnie has been ‘making himself at home’ and is getting more and more cocky with his climbing skills! He went paddleboarding twice with Laura and on his second session luckily he was on a leash because he got a bit adventurous trying to catch fish off the end of the board and fell in!!
In homeschool we started drawing & learning about the different Island regions and talking about our sail plan and the adventures we would like to have at each destination.
We have also begun bread-baking practise so that we can be more self sufficient at sea and not need to go to shore so often for fresh bread.
Needless to say an episode went out (late - sorry!!) and we have been working hard in all social media areas and on more BoatFit content….
BoatFit YouTube GOES LIVE from next week! Don’t forget to sub and hit the bell if you’re up for Laura’s workouts in the sun! You can find it here…..

The Genoa went up without a hitch (literally!).
And last but not least it’s the 1st April in a couple of days, the weather is starting to look more stable and warm - so this means only one thing - WE START SAILING NEXT WEEK!!!
Thanks for all your continued support we couldn’t be and wouldn’t be here without you….
Loads of love
Ross, Laura, Joshy, Noah & Ronnie xx 🐾
Ps but we WON’T talk about Laura’s 5kg weight that got dropped into the sea by Ross earlier this week. No. Let’s not bring that up again….. 😂
