New Rewards Coming Soon
🕑 Added 2016-05-02 18:24:40 +0000 UTC Finding a way to help thank backers while continuing on like normal at GameFromScratch has been a tricky prospect. This is especially true because the Patreon tools are quite awful for such tasks. This has always sat wrong with me, as I've felt there should be an advantage beyond simply my thanks (thanks! by the way ) and a few exclusive posts here. I think I have found an ideal solution... Dropbox. I recently upgraded to Dropbox Pro, so I will be able to provide links to protected folders to you guys.What exactly does this mean? Very soon I will publish a link that will give you access to raw project files I used for previous tutorial series. You will also have access to all new tutorial series, basically the same files I use to create the tutorial, you will be able to download, assets and all. I will also be making a collection of "home made" assets available. They may not be great, but they will be ready to drop into your game. Going forward too, if I use Blender to create a sprite sheet, you will get access to not only the tutorial, the sprite sheet, but also the Blender files I used to create it.
On occasion I use resources I do not have a license to redistribute, so those sadly cannot be included.
Stay tuned for more details. It will probably be a bit sloppy at first, as many of these projects were never intended to be shared. Going forward though, everything will be structured in a way that is well organized and ready to go.

Hello Bjørn, First off, I certainly appreciate the ongoing support and the fact you expect nothing more than more of what I am doing is awesome, I can certainly manage that! ;) At the end of the day though, I want to make this a more rewarding experience, while still accomplishing providing the kind of content I am creating today. By making all of the raw materials I work with available to backers I view it as giving and added perk, while at the same time it is something I have to generate anyways. I just wish I had been more mindful in the past about keeping these resources. Going forward though, I would really like to make the Patreon program more rewarding (and enticing), while still being focused on making material that is usable for everybody. I don't like the idea of gating off content like you see on many Patreon channels, which is why I look for other perks. Your feedback on this is certainly appreciated.
Oh, and for the record, I also neither want nor am I going to decide or even influence what type of series you are making. You know your stuff, man, and that's what I want to support. If I knew better than you, I'd do it myself.
Mike, I think you may misunderstand what our goals are as your patreons. If we were concerned with getting stuff in return more than we were concerned with keeping you motivated to do what you're doing, we'd have let you know. Speaking only for myself to my knowledge, I neither expect nor want anything in return for my support. I want you to keep doing exactly what you are doing because that is important to me. Feel free to ask instead of assuming what our motivations are. You'll find it's a lot easier to get to the bottom of things with a simple question :-)
