Matt, I've followed you since your Portal 2 video for more than a decade and you're still my favorite Youtuber that has the most varied and intresting game taste of anybody that I've seen on the web. I'm going to be a bit pedantic in my recommendation question in that I'm just hoping to ask if you could recommend me your top 25 games of all time or couple dozen games that you'd recommend to any gamer that loves the medium and will try anything & everything from the most niche genre to the most esoteric mechanics. If it helps some of my tastes include: Dark Souls 1, BOTW, SIlent Hill 2, Katamari Damacy, Portal, Outer Wilds, the MGS series, Rayman Legends, Earthbound, Alan Wake 2 and the Half-Life series. Keep up the great work and I hope things are good for you and your SO.

There's Maldita Castilla EX which pretty much aims to be a GnG game with Spanish flavor.

This is kind of specific, but can you recommend any "Gob-likes" outside of the GnG series?

I tried to look for good 2d action platformers like gng and castlevnia but I think I played all the good ones already. I tried some megamans and a bunch of indie ones and a lot of them don't have as strong level design and are dependent on collecting upgrades or having shops to be interesting. I particularly like the castlevania games that have weird move set options like the backflip in rondo and the trident guy in bloodlines. I've already tried: all the good classicvanias, gng resurection, keroblaster, alien soldier, gunstar heros, a few megamans, shovel knight, volgarr the viking, princess madeline, cuphead, the messenger and cybershadow.

Hi Matthew, My favorite game of all time is dustforce but I’m looking for other precision 2d platformers since I’ve gotten an SS rank on every level. I’ve also completely finished Celeste and loved that as well. Beyond those two I’ve had a good time with Mario Wonder and both of the newer Donkey Kong titles. Part of me thinks I should just get into Mario World now but I was wondering if you have any other recommendations outside of the obvious. I would love to find something else with the same kind of challenge and skill curve as dustforce but maybe it really is one of a kind in that sense.
