It does also have to do with him being male though. As in, if he had a living older sister, he would still come first. And if he was a girl and Dani was a man, then I'm actually not sure which one should come first.

The song Jenny of Oldstones is my FAVORITE song in Ice and Fire. It was written by Rhaegar about Summerhall, the tragedy he was born into when his grandfather accidentally burned half the family and the summer palace. Jenny of Oldstones was his uncle's, Duncan, lowborn wife who he gave the crown up for to marry.

I know I've mentioned it before, but I want to reiterate. Jon being male has nothing to do with his claim over Daenerys. Even if they were both male, Jon would come first. In Westeros and in our real history, Primogeniture goes down the line, not to the side unless you hit a dead end. Aerys, the Mad King, had three children: his eldest son, Rhaegar, his second son, Viserys, and his only daughter, Daenerys. His primary heir was Rheagar. When Robert killed him, the throne passed down to his firstborn son, who he had with his first wife, Ellia Martel, but he and all his siblings were killed by the Mountain under Tywin's orders when the Lannisters took King's Landing. From that point, Jon was the primary heir. I mean, it's a classic trope in both fiction and real history: uncles and aunts trying to usurp the children of their siblings. Daenerys is his aunt; her using that male clarification is blatant manipulation to make Jon think it's just the patriarchy keeping her down when he is clearly in line before her.

still weird seeing arya nude when youve watched maisie williams acting since season one .. and apparently it was weird for her too .. just feels wrong .. i know shes an adult at this point - shes as old as sophie turner (sansa) - but still .. weird
