Love the new rewrite. Hate making negative comment at all, but not sure if I have this right. If Colonel Guest is in charge of the school, why is he referred to as the “Executive Officer” I’m former military so the executive officer or XO is always the #2. The #1 is commanding officer or CO.

Another excellent chapter! I know everyone is wondering about her being behind, but I think between the way she has been communicating with the mind while being out, her new ability and her link to Shido, she is going to have a serious advantage catching up fast. The way I saw things the mind was possibly helping rebuild her neural pathways which could mean they are more efficient now? I hope the Lasher is still able to get training, seems like Arias brother was having too much fun training him to let him just walk away that easily. As usual, cant wait for the next chapter… Bryce, you sure as heck know how to leave us all in suspense begging for more! I can just picture your grin at the end of every chapter thinking “oh this one will get them all really wondering whats happening next!” 😈 😂

It was stated in Fire and Song and briefly in the first book. There are cameras throughout the stadium that NOEDs can tap into. The NOEDs can slow down the fight so users AND civis can see and comprehend without needing a Cognition Spec. On top of that, in the very first chapter when Young Rei was watching Valera and Alex fight, there was a fight stats area that shows abilities being activated and I'm assuming would also describe injuries and FDAs sustained. It would also be logical to assume that match arbiters have even MORE access to the field systems and can get real time updates on the field.

I’m hoping that the “link” with Shido will work like “Exp Share” in Pokémon and Viv will now leech part of Rei’s growth everytime he trains! That way she won’t be ridiculously behind after the crazy training they’ve been going through for the few weeks she’s been out.

With Viv doing what she did to try and keep up with the others, what’s she going to do when she finds out how far behind she actually is now. And, what’s Rei’s and Firesong’s rankings now. If Rei leveled up 2 ranks the first night, how much after a month of training with 3 S ranked trainers? Love the first chapter but this is definitely an improvement.

Could def see that being a thing when civs watch fights on the feeds but what about realtime? I remember one of the commentators of Rei’s SCTs being a non-user and like I just don’t see that being possible if Rei can’t keep up even with cognition! Also, I totally love that we are all invested enough in this world to debate potential commentators of SCTs 😂

so the fights at top levels actualy get slowed down enough for normal humans to see them through technology so high ranked cad users can watch the full speed fight but civs can still. follow along

That he’s getting top notch training himself out of helping Firesong is great to see! Can’t wait until he goes up against someone in an actual SCT match who has Arsenal Shift and he kicks their arse due to this exact lesson! As soon as Greyskull was mentioned I knew it was Dent! She does love the classics, and Jetway getting her references is great! Though me and Jetway will be having words!! Battle Cat’s barding is classic I tell you!!! Classic!!! The news and Dent’s reaction to it is great, and I can’t wait to see Firesong going to the UTU to see Viv! Hopefully their curfew will be rolled back so it can happen immediately!
