As a former Amazon “fulfillment associate”, that description of entering work at the facility made me tear up. And laugh! It made me think of the sorting people who physically work at the top of “The Grid”. At the time, they were my best conception of Labor Aristocrats in that facility.

Very cool, the pleasant uncanniness/alienness of communism is something that I've been thinking about a lot. As a research engineer I can say for certain TONS of research remains marooned in journals and lab benches not even because they are not profitable but because they are not profitable SOON ENOUGH; tons of daily breakthroughs, capital is simply too lethargic. I don't think you are going to be able to ever get around labor time accounting, as they think; "people simply take what they need", LTA is how you make sure that happens, so as long as the token don't circulate, it's not money. Might be different under Fully-Automated Production it wouldn't be labor but some quantification of whatever AI is overseeing it, or perhaps exactly as they say, its difficult to judge any sort of timeline on FAP. You should have Tomas Hardin on to talk about planning, he wrote the first industrial socialist planning software.
