Was chuffed to hear y'all talk about the drilling plans in Alaska. Since first hearing about the project moving towards development I've just taken it as granted that it will go thru, but would truly love to be surprised. Only hope i have is that it will bring some more money thru our town and liven things up for a couple of years, but that is a very slim hope.

What was the site Andy mentioned at the end re: reevaluating the George Floyd uprising?

Ok. Very interested to hear you mention prepperism. Would love if you guys did a deep dive into the prepper blogosphere and point your analytical eye to what is going on with those people. Is it just hyper individualistic reactionaries day dreaming about getting to kill refugees with their guns when they come for your stockpiled supplies?... Or is there something to the notion that the world will end and soon that is worth taking seriously? Would surviving in a post-collapse society even be worth it or would it be so horrible and traumatic that it's probably better to perish. Very interested to hear your take on these questions and more.

Total rookie question here, but how does the secular stagnation / long crisis of capital observation, where there's not enough profits to share with workers anymore, correlate with facts like CEO pay increasing by 1500% since 1978? Are these the results of two separate processes, one being a crisis of capital and the other the decline of workers' power?

Fuck, I totally hear the echo now, sorry AM, thought it was gone. Good ep in any case tho!

If i may, I don't think we want to get rid of the new left, we just want to pick and choose more what in it. Like trying to link workplace and urban riot like the DRUM did in Detroit is interesting and their experience still valuable for that.

But “stupid horse” isn’t about a horse, it’s about cyclical bad luck within gambling. In contrast, “stupid horse (remix)” replaces betting on capital with taking a chance for love. To shag the jockey, to replace the “Porsche” with the “jeep.” They insert the alternative outcomes in the bridge, from 1), “Why am I never getting lucky?” to 2), “Why am I always so damn lucky?”

Vedder sounds like another opinion-curating rad-lib; AS ineffective as the right soc-dems she's criticizing

Y’all should check out King Gizzard! Their new album PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation is dropping soon. And their album Infest The Rats Nest is about a world in which the rich have ruined earth and colonized Mars (the rat’s nest), then the poor people abandoned on earth end up going to Mars and fucking the rich people’s shit up
