Shocking Miya
🕑 Added 2023-11-04 21:11:31 +0000 UTCDespite the operation being successfull, her ventricles would start to fibrillate soon after. Still strapped to the operating table, this middle aged lady would need to be resusciated and again stabilzed for transport.
I'm looking to add Miya's muscle contractions and possibly other steps of the resusciation attempt to this scene, but for now please enjoy some first impressions.

Would there have been any need to do chest compressions on her to get her into a shockable rhythm

Miya has a gastro intestinal problem and operation, so the NG tube was put in immediately, main to drain and deflate her stomach and intestines. Towards the end of the larger procedure she also received a jejunal tube, which leads into the small intestine where she was operated. Feeding her may then be done through this catheter if not possible through the stomach. Additionally a NG tube is practically a requirement for an ICU stay with endotracheal intubation, which at the point of surgery was already planned for Miya.

why the nasogastric tube (NG tube)? for just a surgery
