I'm still torn myself on Dr Mertens ultimate fate. Does she get away with everything, or face some type of consequence?

I can see this ending one of two ways: Either Dr. Mertens takes over the entire prosecutor's office, or she gets punished for her crimes by becoming the biggest, milkiest hucow of all. Either way I can't wait.
