Got an extra lil thing to share today, a commission I wrote for someone that they didn't mind me sharing! I don't tend to do a lot of commissions, and this will probably be my last one for a good long while while I try to focus on visual novel, but hey, I hope you enjoy if it's to your taste!

Music quivers the air, a bright electronic beat that drives bodies to a sort of inevitable motion. The whole room and everyone in it feels the rhythm in their chest. Everyone is dancing, talking, engaged and engaging, except——
“This music isn’t even creepy.”
Two women, sitting by the self-serve open bar. One is dressed as some sort of demon, with long curving horns and razor-black nails. Her outfit is tight, black and red. She has a sharp looking black ring on her left ring finger. Her name is Adline, and she’s leaning back on the bar counter, looking at the crowd of dancers with mild dissatisfaction.
“Hardly anyone dressed up either.”
The other is wearing a violent sort of demon hunter outfit, a bodysuit marked with protective sigils and draped in thin steel (unsharpened) throwing knives. She’s thrown her long black coat over the chair beside her, letting the low cut of her outfit show off her toned back and shoulders. She has a ring matching Adline’s on the same finger. Her name is Rev, and she is playing a idol rhythm game on her phone.
Adline sighs dramatically, checking to make sure her nails are holding up.
“We were promised a Halloween party, not a… shindig.”
Rev snorts without looking up.
“You sound like a dork, Ad.”
“Hey, this party is the one that’s ‘dorky’, I’m simply describing it accurately.”
She reaches over the counter and pulls a lime flavored hard seltzer from a bucket of ice, before wrinkling her nose and dropping it back in.
“They said there would be drinks too,” she laments. “But the only thing in the house with an alcohol content over two percent is the hand sanitizer.”
“You can’t drink hand sanitizer, Ad.”
Adline frowns at her wife.
“I’m not going to drink the hand sanitizer. I’m not a wild animal.”
Rev shrugs as she hits a 300 note combo.
Adline scratches her neck, and briefly wishes she was enough of a loser to play phone games in public. She then notices their mutual friend and party organizer, Sara, heading their way with a big smile. Adline elbows Rev.
“Shit. Try to look like you’re having fun, Sara’s coming.”
“I am having fun. I just triple S ranked on Fuwa Fuwa no Hoshi Zetsu Metsu.”
Adline turns to scowl at Rev, but is confronted with a sparkling image of a very colorful young lady in an heavily-ribboned dress doing peace signs on her phone.
“See?”
“Rev, I swear——”
“Adline! Rev! So glad you made it! Oh wow, you really got all done up huh?”
Sara is a very nice, very normal girl that the pair went to college with, and somehow have kept up with this whole time despite their obvious differences. It’s sort of like an unlikely animal friends video in which a pair of wolves hang out with a rabbit. She’s wearing a dress adorned with cheerful pumpkin faces, and a felt witch hat.
“Sara, you’re looking lovely as ever.”
“Aww, thanks Adline! Sorry for not warning you that it was more of a ‘casual costume’ theme. I hope you’re not too embarrassed…”
Adline throws her hair back, and traces a nail along her jawline.
“Oh no, I look incredible. It’s everyone else who should be embarrassed for failing to match me.”
She holds the pose for a moment, which is completely wasted on the world’s straightest woman. Sara laughs.
“You’re so funny Adline, I could never keep up with you!”
She pats Rev on the head, who nods appreciatively without looking up from her game.
“You two are so cute. You should enter the doubles apple bobbing contest together!”
Adline looks nonplussed.
“Apple… bobbing?”
“You know, you get on your knees——”
“You have my attention.”
“What? Oh! Haha! You’re so funny!”
Before she can continue, Sara is interrupted.
“Hey, I brought the ice.”
Adline raises an eyebrow as Sara fusses over the newcomer. The girl is, maybe a couple years younger than Sara, with dyed blue hair and a punkish angel costume that has obviously been lovingly handcrafted. She’s also, Adline notes immediately, extremely pretty. She bites back a grin.
“Oh, my manners, I’m so sorry. This is my cousin Lace. She’s visiting from out of town, and I bullied her into helping me out with party stuff, the poor girl. Lace, these are my best friends from college, Adline and Rev.”
“Charmed,” Adline says. Rev mumbles something and nods.
Lace looks their way and her eyebrows shoot up.
“Wow Sara, I had no idea you had such hot friends.”
She immediately turns red after saying that, and tries not to caught looking at the sheer amount of exposed skin on either of their costumes. Adline tries to play it cool, but her considerable ego has been stoked. Sara wags a finger at Lace.
“Oh no, you want no part of them. They got married last year but that won’t stop one of them from eating you alive.”
Lace gives her cousin a look that screams ‘maybe I want to get eaten alive,’ but manages to keep her mouth shut. Sara rolls her eyes and pats Lace’s shoulder with a sigh.
“Forget all that now, we have to get this ice to Alex. I’ll help you carry it! Talk to you two later!”
Sara smiles and shakes her head at the pair, before picking up a bulky bag and marching off.
Lace nods at them before picking up the other bag.
“Um. Nice meeting you both.”
Rev makes a noise like a goodbye, and Adline waves coyly. The pair are once again alone in the corner of the party.
After Sara and Lace are out of sight, Adline leans back against the counter.
“What a pretty little thing.”
“She was quite attractive.”
“And that outfit, it looks like she put some work into it.”
“Certainly she did.”
“It just makes you want to tear it off her with your bare hands, doesn’t it?”
“Oh, certainly.”
Adline turns to Rev, who is now playing something incomprehensible that involves a schoolgirl holding the largest rifle Adline had ever seen.
“Did you even look up at her??”
“Of course I did. I just don’t feel the need to gawk, like a certain someone.”
“I wasn’t gawking. I was appreciating something beautiful.”
Her grin widens wickedly.
“And thinking about all the ways I could destroy it.”
“Getting ahead of yourself, aren’t you?”
Adline scowls.
“With the way she was looking at me? I could seduce her, easily. All it would take is a little. Tiny. Push.”
Rev laughs cooly.
“So you say.”
Adline knows it’s bait. She knows instantly she’s being baited. She, of course, is so terribly competitive that the idea of not taking it never crosses her mind.
“Oh, you think you could do better?”
“Yes.”
“Well, too bad. I want her.”
“She’s not property. We don’t get to decide that.”
“Rock paper scissors you for her.”
Rev pauses for a moment, and her screen goes dark.
“You’re on.”
They both look around to make sure no one’s watching.
“Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!”
Two rocks.
They do it again, faster.
Two scissors.
Once more.
Two rocks.
“Auuughh I hate this, you’re doing it on purpose!”
Rev looks innocently at her without saying anything. Adline puts her hands on her hips and stands up.
“You’re right. We can’t decide which of us she’s coming home with without her input. We’ll have to compete for her affection directly.”
“I thought you just wanted to ask her out.”
“No, Rev, I want to experience her. Get your head in the game.”
“What’s your plan?”
“Let’s keep it simple. We each take a turn to draw her in. Whichever of us succeeds gets a pretty toy to play with. If we both fail, then I guess this whole party really was a bust.”
Rev considers.
“Whoever goes first has a chance to win without com petition.”
“I suppose.”
She nods.
“You go first then.”
Adline’s eyes narrow.
“Why.”
“It’s only fair that you get a chance at her.”
“Oh, Rev. I’ll make you regret that.”
Adline fishes for a hard seltzer, pulling out a pomegranate flavored can, snapping the tab with expertly with the edge of her finger so as to not damage her nails. She throws her head back and drains the can without a second of hesitation, slamming it down on the counter.
“Disgusting. I’m ready. Where is she.”
Rev points Lace out by the window. She turns her head, not quickly enough to hide that she was looking in their direction. Adline smirks.
“Oh this is going to be breathtakingly easy.”
She stands, checks to make sure her outfit is in order and her breasts as exposed as she can reasonably get away with. There is no end to her confidence. She moves through the maelstrom of bodies as if she was born to do it, eyes lingering on her with every step. A smile dances on her lips. She likes when people look.
It’s louder in this corner, closer to the speakers. Nevertheless, Adline leans beside Lace, one heel kicked up against the wall to show off more of her thigh.
“Lace, was it?”
Lace looks a little flustered, hesitates, then says “What?” loudly. Adline closes her eyes for a moment, and tries again, louder.
“I like your name. It’s very pretty.”
“Oh! Thank you, I picked it myself!”
Adline hesitates. It’s too noisy for her to properly pull off her sexy voice, and that’s throwing her game off a little bit.
“I’m glad somebody else here takes the holiday seriously enough to put some effort into their look. Your costume is, quite attractive.”
“Oh yeah, I love getting dressed up for stuff. I put this together myself, sewed all the patches on and everything. It’s casual enough that I might wear it sometimes just around. Uh, minus the halo and wings.”
“Oh yes, it looks excellent on you. Though, I’m sure you’d be just as exquisite without it, as well.”
“Hah, yeah I guess I’ve got a pretty good sense of style even when I’m just being casual.”
“Thats——”
Adline stops herself, and takes a moment to reflect on the situation. Clearly, she thinks to herself, this girl is immune to charm. She taps a nail against her jaw, trying to decide where to go next. Lace is fairly unsubtle in sneaking peaks at her breasts, so it’s not like she’s not at all interested. She’s just got to get through to her. She puffs out her chest a little.
Time to swing for the fences.
“Look, Lace.”
She leans closer, giving her a seductive smile.
“I think you and I could have a good time. We should spend a little, personal time, together, and see what happens. I’m quite the entertainer, though I do admit a play a little rough at times~”
Adline grins. This innocent girl doesn’t have a chance. Flustered, blushing, grasping for words.
“Take your time, I’m in no rush for your response~”
Finally, Lace manages to get her head together.
“Ah, I really appreciate that!”
Adline’s eyebrow twitches. Lace smiles without a hint of irony.
“I don’t have a lot of irl friends, and you two seem so cool, I didn’t want to be a bother, but yeah, I’d love to hang out sometime! I’m kinda halfway moved out here so it would be nice to have friends in the area!”
Both times she says ‘friends’ hits Adline like twin arrows through the chest. Her head slumps forward, silently admitting defeat.
“That. Sounds nice, yes.”
Adline is so thoroughly routed that she doesn’t even draw a little heart next to her name when they exchange numbers. They chat for another few minutes about innocuous things, before one of Sara’s other friends come by to grab Lace to help fill the punch bowl.
Walking back to Rev, Adline growls “punch isn’t even spiked” under her breath. Still, she has one small comfort as she drops herself into the seat next to Rev.
“Well, she’s the same as Sara.”
“Oh, boo, straight?”
“Nope. An idiot. Completely impervious to all attempts at romance and passion. Seduction proof.”
Rev slips her phone into her bra, which really doesn’t fit the theme of her outfit.
“My turn then.”
Adline shrugs and looks smug.
“If you must humiliate yourself as well. At least your failure will sooth the lingering sting of my defeat.”
“Yeah, right. Watch my coat.”
Adline cracks open a second seltzer. This one’s blue raspberry, and the smell gives her goosebumps. This is sure to be entertaining.
Lace has returned to her spot by the speakers, and is talking casually with someone Adline doesn’t recognize. Rev awkwardly skirts around the crowd, avoiding high concentrations of people. She looks at first glance to be timid, especially compared to Adline, but really she just doesn’t like to waste energy on things she deems unimportant. Weaving through groups, making small talk, looking people in the eye, all unimportant. She’s a sweet person, yet inscrutable to mere mortals.
Adline frowns and sips her drink as Rev reaches Lace. Rev can put on quite a show when she wants to. Still, there’s no way she’ll do any better with this girl. Adline’s nickname in college was ‘The Florist’ because of all the ‘flowers’ she picked. Rev was ‘that spooky girl who creeps around behind Adline’. No competition.
Leaning forward, Adline watches closely. Rev says something to Lace, then waves brusquely at the person she was talking to, who wanders off looking a little confused.
The crowd keeps moving, making it hard to keep line of sight. Plus, Rev is standing directly in the way. Adline scowls, sure she’s doing it on purpose. Hm. She’s getting really close—— Hey! Is she touching Lace?? Was that allowed?? Oh, she’s brushing her hair back to whisper something in her ear… Oh gods, Lace’s face went so red.
…
Was that a kabedon?? Did she just kabedon that girl?? Adline winces. This can’t be good. There’s a fifty fifty chance they’re both about to get thrown out of this party. Adline quickly finishes her drink, and when she looks back, Rev is returning, and Lace is slowly sliding down the wall like she’s melting into a puddle.
Adline puts on a brave face.
“C-crawling back with your tail between your legs?”
“No. I just came to get my coat. I’m bringing Lace back to our place.”
Adline pouts.
“Damn it Rev. What did you say to that girl?”
Rev shrugs.
“Oh no you don’t. I tried being flashy, I tried being direct. What worked?”
“You don’t know how to be direct. I just told her I wanted to see what kind of noises I could coax out of her with just my tongue.”
Adline drops her face into her hands.
“Rev. My love. You’re going to get hit one of these days if you say things like that to girls you barely know.”
“Calculated risk. I said some other stuff too. Gimme my coat.”
“Fine. I suppose I’ll just linger here in straight hell for a couple hours.”
“We’ll use the guest room, so don’t worry about it. Come back whenever.”
Adline shakes her head as Rev links arms with Lace, pulling her along with purpose. Lace looks completely entranced, and Rev is doing that frustratingly sexy quiet intensity thing. Adline smiles and looks at the hard seltzer in her hand.
“If this had been whiskey I would have won. The foul taste detracted from my charm.”
About 30 minutes later, Sara drops by again, this time carrying a sack of Pink Lady apples.
“Hey Adline, have you seen Lace? I need her to help me with the apple bobbing—— Oh no where’s Rev.”
“I’m afraid it’s curtains for your dear cousin, Sara. She’ll be ruined for marriage.”
Sara rubs her temple.
“It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it. Ohhhh, I’m gonna give the two of them such a scolding for leaving me hanging. Unless you want to take Lace’s place?”
Adline hops up.
“Actually, I just realized I have a midnight matinee to make it to thankyousomuchforhostingusit’salwayslovelytoseeyougoodluckwithyourapplesbyeeee~”
“GET BACK HERE ADLINE——”
Adline books it out of there, all pretense of quiet elegance put on hold as she desperately tries to avoid learning the rules to doubles apple bobbing.
It’s a narrow escape.

Rev kicks the door shut as she pins Lace to the wall with her lips. The girl’s chest quivers, her body curls as she wraps herself around Rev. Her body screams for Rev’s touch. Coats are dropped. Costume props discarded. Breath exchanged.
They make it to the couch before Lace is thrown down, eyes clouded with lust as they stare at Rev’s body. Her lips tremble as she speaks.

Rev’s eyes betray no emotion beyond a wild hunger.
“Because I can’t help wanting to make a mess of something beautiful.”
Lace is dazzled, taken aback by the confidence with which she speaks. Not a hint of nervousness, of shame. Just power, plainly spoken to life.
“Do whatever you want to me,” she says breathlessly.
“I intend to,” Rev responds as she pops the buttons on Lace’s shirt, one by one.

Adline takes the long way home, walking patiently through the leaves as the breeze nips at her heels. With a dramatic sigh, she looks up at the moon.
“Waste of a perfectly good costume. Didn’t even get laid once.”
She looks down, noticing a group of men standing outside an apartment building, smoking. They must have heard her, since one of them looks about to make a pass at her. His eyes meet hers and it’s enough to make him falter. None of them say a word as she passes through them. They just watch without breathing, like you might if a wild animal came too close late on a dark night.
Adline hardly even notices the effect she had on them. She’s always intimidated people, especially since she hit her growth spurt at 14 put her a head above most teachers. She used to be self conscious of the way people react to her, but now it’s just part of the way she conducts herself. One of the things that drew her to Rev in the first place, those years ago, was the way she was simply herself, no matter the situation.
To be without shame.
That’s what Rev taught her.

She shakes her head.
“Now if only she taught me how she manages to get so many girls while barely saying a word to them.”
Adline looks up at her apartment building, then glances at her phone. No point texting Rev to check in. She deliberately doesn’t look at her phone while she’s ‘entertaining.’ She’d get distracted far too easily if she did. But, it’s been an hour, it’ll be fine for her to go up by now.

Rev frowns.
“I got so caught up I forgot to move us to the bedroom.”

“Oh no, Adline? Is she upset that I came home with you?”
“No, just a little embarrassed. Walking in on your wife fucking a girl who turned you down and all.”
“Turned her down..?”
Lace’s face lights up, then turns red.
“S-s-she was asking me out too?? I thought she was just being friendly…”
Rev takes a sip from her water bottle.
“I always tell her she’s being too vague. She sounds like she’s rehearsing for a play, not propositioning you.”
With a sigh, Rev wipes her hands off on a napkin, her body framed in the lamplight. She’s still wearing most of her clothes, unlike the carefully-stripped-to-underwear Lace.
“We should move to the guest room.”
Lace murmurs something.
“Hm?”
Looking like she can’t quite believe what she’s saying, Lace repeats it, a little louder.
“I wouldn’t mind, doing it with her, too…”
Rev eyes her impassively.
“Yeah? Want me to invite her in? Fair warning, there might not be anything left of you by the time we’re both satisfied.”
Lace looks a little nervous, but mostly excited.
“If I die I die.”
Rev makes a slightly impressed face.

Lace makes a small noise. A pair of hands wrap slowly around her hips. Every bit of motion sends a flood of sensation through her, hot enough to burn her up from the inside.

Wrapping her hands around Lace, gently tugging at her nipples, Adline almost growls in her ear.

Lace looks over at Rev with a blush. Rev does a little shrug, and offers her another chocolate.
“I think I’m gonna need some real food before I can go again. And maybe a nap. And also I don’t know that I can move much.”
Rev nods, gets up, and leaves the room.
“W-where did she go?”
“I expect to get a laptop so we can order food. If you want to escape, this may be your only chance to run.”
Lace looks up at her, wide eyed.
“This is what my cousin meant when she said you’d eat me alive huh.”
Adline grins evilly.
“Absolutely. You’ll be trapped, toyed with and doted on relentlessly until we’re both satisfied.”
Lace grins back, still blushing.
“I think I can handle that.”
