Xander left the convenience store, lifting into the air over the city, mind a bit awhirl with what he’d learned.
Ok, yeah, neo-nazis were a thing back home, of course. And he’d gotten to play a little with Hydra at his last little vacation spot, but honestly Hydra was Nazi lite at best, and the morons back home were just idiots.
The fact that there was a Superhuman…
Sorry, Parahuman, Xander corrected himself… gang of literal Nazis, or as close as you got, entrenched in an American city had his blood boiling and his nerves just jumping… he wasn’t sure if it was outrage or excitement.
The guy at the store had filled him in on the basics of the locale, beyond just the goose stepping morons. Apparently there was also an Asian centered gang called the ABB, a loose collection of drug dealers known as the Merchants, and various lesser bad guys with super powers within the city.
That was a lot of name brand villains for one small city, Xander noted. New York, Gotham, and Metropolis, in their respective universes, could match it for sure… but few other places several times the size of Brockton could even come close.
Standing against the Villains was primarily a government sponsored super team and a small family of independents. Outnumbered, outgunned, and really just fighting to keep things from swirling the drain faster than they had to.
Forget Grimdark, this universe is Grimderp.
The guy had turned him onto something useful, though.
Never thought I’d buy a cell phone from a 7/11.
He got the cheap phone out of his pocket and quickly made up an account and logged onto the website he’d been pointed too, and started reading up on the local, as well as the global situation.

♦Topic: New Cape in the Bay?

Holy crap guys, I think I almost died tonight. For those of you who don't know, I work the 7/11 off the highway out of town. Tonight I pulled the nightshift, had another half hour to go when this guy comes in and heads straight to the magazine rack and starts treating the place like a library.
I know, supposed to stop that, but I didn't care and wasn't paid enough to bother at that time of night so I let him be. Little while after, though, three Empire mooks burst in, lead guy with a hand cannon big enough for me to look downt he bore and I swear to god I saw the bullet! Bastard threatens to give me an extra hole in my head, if you get the picture.
So I'm about to crap my pants when a blast of red light comes from the Magazine rack and just DROPS the mook in his tracks. The other two idiots scream Cape and bolt.
Said cape calmly walks over to the counter, LOOTS the mook to pay for his magazine and a coke, and does all this without even bothering to hide his face. I figure I'm dead, but he doesn't seem to give a damn.
Wind up telling him about the local gangs (The look on his face when I tell him about the Empire freaked me the fuck out... I swear guys, the guy looked like he was ready to go hunting Nazis and was EXCITED about it). Sold him a phone, gave him an overview of the Bay, and he left.
Hell of a night, and I still have ten minutes on my shift. Called the cops after he left, but the mook woke up before they got here. Not that he'd have been in lockup for long anyway.
I hate this town.

Hey Bagrat, no he didn't and I wasn't asking, sorry.
Phringo, screw you. I'm not taking pics of a cape's face, and if I were that fucking stupid, I wouldn't be insane enough to post them.

Hey guys, Rjaime thanks again for the intel and the phone. Bagrat, Moniker I tend to go by in these situations is Magus, Alexander Magus if you want to be formal.
I don't care much about photos and the like. Never had a secret identity, don't plan to start now. You guys do have an interesting... what is it you call it? Cape culture? I'll give you that. Not sure how much I like it, but what the hell, when in Rome and all that.

This is unusual. Capes don't usually chat around quite so easily here. Where are you from, Magus?

Fuck you, you piece of shit! The Empire is gonna get you!

Hey Bagrat, I'm from... let's call it out of town for the moment, alright? Way out.
And as for mr TojurPur there, there are only three things I hate in this world. Clowns are number three, Nazis are number two.
Growing up, my best friend... her grandparents spent time in ClubFascist during the war. Grandmother made it out, grandfather didn't. I heard stories, saw the numbers on her arm. Anyone wearing those colors has a date with my fist, and that's assuming they're not stupid enough to draw down.

True Pure, take a temp ban for threatening people. Magus, you're skirting the rules there yourself. I'll let it pass, both because he threatened you first and because you weren't specifically talking about punching him, but watch yourself.

No way, new cape in the bay and he's got his priorities straight...
uh, I have to ask though... you said you hate only three things, clowns, and Nazis were two and three right?
So... what's one?

Xander bounced back and forth between the forums and the general information sections, keeping track of the thread he was in while reading up on things as best he could. Brockton Bay had something of a reputation as best he could tell, and not a great one.
In addition to being a shithole… literally, that seemed to be the very nearly official term in use as best he could tell, it had a hell of a history. One that he was pretty sure would take him a while to even begin to get a grasp on.
The world, though, that was where things got really bad.
Endbringers. Three… monsters so nasty they were called Endbringers. What. The. Fuck?
City killers were not exactly unusual in the universes he’d been visiting, mind you… but they didn’t usually succeed, and if they did the heroes pretty much guaranteed they didn’t do it twice. What he was looking at here was a freaking nightmare that went back decades, with cities being drowned, burned… and walled in for fear that the people inside would go psycho if they got loose.
If I didn’t already know where Hell was and how to get there, I think I might believe I’d accidentally landed in it.

That's just cause I was using a Generator for the Pho formating, I'll edit it a bit to line up with the proper Worm timeline.

I am guessing #1 would be vampires. Side note: the date is Jan 1, 2000... are you timeshifting things? Should be 2011ish for Brockton Bay. 2000 would be about right for the Buffyverse though.

probably both. I always planned to do the Marvel story, but for the moment this one was just bugging at me.

Thanks for all the great updates on a new story. I would certainly be happy with more updates on Shadow Council or DCAU, but if this is where your muse is looking right now I'm very happy to see this one updated as often as you like. One question, are you planning on actually doing a 4th (third?) story with MCU or is it all going to be incidental references running through this one?
