I'd like to bring my wife and stay here at least once, but for the price of two people, on a military salary, it's just not feasible..." (Captain)
“Hahaha, I see. Then, depending on your schedule, why don't you bring your wife to stay with you at this place tonight as our hostess? If I say [I want to spend the night with Colonel Genaus' family to deepen our friendship], they'll let you stay the night, right?" (Yuki)
“Well, I'm sure that would happen, but... No, mmm, of course it would. My wife would certainly appreciate it. Are you sure?" (Captain)
"Yes, I'll leave it to you. I'll also put in a good word by saying, [I'm in good hands with the captain.] How does that sound?" (Yuki)
I turned to an old woman sitting on a nearby sofa.
She rolled her eyes, a little surprised, and then smiled at me in an endearing way.
The old woman said, “Yes, all right, I'll save one room for Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine. Colonel, you can talk to your wife after this.”
“Yes! Thank you for your thoughtfulness! ... You noticed that, Yuki?" (Captain)
“Well, you were very much concerned about that person. Of course, I noticed." (Yuki)
He was subtly sobbing. If I looked at that person with my analytical skills, I would be able to recognize her. It was in her title.
-Yes, it was not just a lady sitting on the couch.
It was the head of state of this country...
"That is true, you were looking at me a little too much, Captain. That's why I told you beforehand not to pay attention to me.” (???)
“I'm sorry, I'm not good at that sort of thing...” (Captain)
The captain seemed a little more nervous than usual, perhaps because he was dealing with the leader of his own country.
He was always so resolute even when dealing with a Demon Lord or someone like that, but I guess he still ended up reacting like this when he faced his own country's top leader.
I did hear that the head of the Erlin Confederation was a woman, but.... I didn't know she was such a person.
At any rate, I understood that she was a mischievous person.
“Hmph, I know. You are a soldier at heart, aren't you? -Nice to meet you, my name is Begarda Falentia. May I call you Yuki, his majesty the Demon Lord?" (Begarda)
“I'm not a ruler anymore, so please don't call me Your Majesty. Just call me Yuki if you like." (Yuki)
“I see, then I will call you Yuki-dono. Thank you very much for coming to our country. I will do my best to entertain you and I hope you will enjoy our country." (Begarda)
“Oh, thank you too. I have always wanted to come to this country. I was curious to see what it was like in the place where they created the airship, and above all, I told the captain that I would visit one of these days." (Yuki)
“...Come to think of it, we had a chat like that.” (Captain)
"Well, I guess this means I'll have to raise Colonel Lorraine's salary.... Hmmm, you, you're going to be a [Special Foreign Service Officer] starting today. Oh, you can keep your military rank. However, you have participated in the war and made enough achievements, so I'm sure you will be a [Major General] in the near future.” (Begarda)
“What? Oh, please wait. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about this Special Foreign Service Officer...” (Captain)
"I am sure you are aware of it, but I just made it up. Well, in short, you will be responsible for the company of Yuki-dono when he comes to our country. I will also pay you a decent salary." (Begarda)
"...I'm flattered, my Lady. I will do my best!" (Captain)
“Good for you, Captain. I'm glad you're handling this because it's going to be a lot easier for me as well." (Yuki)
“...Yuki-dono. I'm glad to hear that. My world has changed since I met you.” (Captain)
“Oh, if that's your pick-up line, it is certainly a pretty cool way to say to me.” (Yuki)
"Won't your wives be mad?" (Begarda)
I laughed, and then she, the head of state, laughed too, and the captain just let out a sigh at that.
