End month report and News, and a bit of Vent
🕑 Added 2021-09-30 13:52:01 +0000 UTCHello comrades long time we dont talk, well at this point i came with some news about the upcoming content and some of problems i was getting lastly so let me start with an obvious inconvenient
And that are the Delays, for one or other reason, delays are really often lastly and i dislike them ALOT, i really wish i can do an model from 1 of each month and finish it the 25 of the same one so it make the pay cycles way more fair
Sadly, i was hitting with some mood, procrastination and other IRL obligations including sleep problems what actually slow down the progress of each model a lot on top of the current development time, that leads to models not just taking more than a month to start... too offsetting the initial production date of an new model too
what brings me to the conclusion of 3 things
1- Per month specific model production its no so radiable anymore
2- its slowly driving me into a burnout
3- Its becoming more difficult spent so much time into just ONE character for that time period without getting tired of the same thing
like i had saying from old post, models getting more complex and with more additions take more time than before and + some delays make models take more of an month to produce
even in full mood where i can do Alot in a couple of days it usually are other couple of days where i dont do anything after and that is not good for me
However im still having problems to spent so much time in a single character in a whole month where i feel i cant do anything else than DO that character in the whole time and repeat the cycle over and over and over during the last years
Was cool the first 2 or 3 years but in feeling a bit fatigated from that loop, specially where i used to do WAY more in the past than today, what brings me into some questions to put in the table,
-How much time and until what point of my life i will doing this loop?
-How much time i have left until my main export engine (SFM) will be still relevant and functional
-How much i as artist will be relevant if i still in the same workflow comfort zone
-what will left form me once all this things are done?, artistically speaking
are questions what weekly drills my head and haunts me... and put im my point of view
I'm almost a 26 years old man with almost no Laboral experience and outside of most Laboral market who look for really experienced people around 18-25 years old
From my perspective my fate its sealed to be an artist for now, and don't get me wrong... i will love the idea of spent my whole life and successful artist or content creator,
but most of us are in a world where are things are completely out of control where literally a guy on asia eating the wrong bat lead to an massive historical event
But i can choose where i want to grow as Artist, and im starting to considering what my actual work rate will eventually hurt me.
Why consider this is important?
Well you see comrade, i don't want to be the kind of guy who dedicate his whole life porting stuff to an necro 32 bits software in the 2030 and beyond, like the guys who still using old DAZ or XNAlara today
CGI market are sky rocketing, and its the future of the art! Blender are growing exponentially aswell the amount of talented 3D artists,
and despite IM a modeller i dont consider myself an artist at all, im just an Crafter, like the guy who craft Swords, im not in the field as the soldiers who perfected the weapon usage
and i barely do art in general something what im thirsty to explore and change,
Lastly i was doing some random creatures y Renders with my characters in blender to get an taste of that program and i really love the potential of it! so i will look foward creating stuff on blender just for hobby and gaining experience
Before Scare anyone.... NO.... i dont have any plans to left SFM soon, threes dozen of artist who are using that program to be the starting point in the CGI world, among the last wave of artist dedicate to craft stuff for like, Furromatic, Akko, Aeridcore, Petruz, and others who build a really nice community from nothing creating assets for an specific engine, not the mention all others SFM artists who created dozens of tools and techniques we use and depends today,
All my concerns are relative to a Long run of the matters, and consider all this are a community based in a no longer supported 32bits 3 GB explosive program what came out during the Windows 7 era
Going back to the first world problems of the actuality... i want to experiment with another kind of workflow for the remaining projects during the rest of the year considering what the monthly stuff cannot be more messier than actually is
giving me room to not downgrade the actual amount of protects and working less stressing in stuff like blender artworks and practice and working on SFM craft parallelly can be an good way to approvach and deal with the burn out
So lets start to talking about the next SFM project's
AN AVIAN LIKE
The actual project consist in an OC called FARADAY related on other characters like Holly, Alilkira and the Hosternfauxs, practically all belongs from my own universe of characters connected by the same lore, since its a topic apart, the idea was go for a character what get out from the classic cannine/mammal looking head and see how resolve some issues like feathers and muzzle for future project's
Right now the model its really early and planned to be done around late octuber
For now its seems all ok but kinda delayed considering i started him the 18 of September, few days after renamon proyect where done
as Usuall, this OC will be for 15 USD tier and probably the last patreon locked model of the year
THE HORNY POLICE
You guys love Big titty gals
And i Love Rats and nice Gear, this character have both of it!
since the past year i had intentions to work on the most know OC from the great Foretbwat https://twitter.com/foretbwat and in mid May i contacted him asking for permission to use his character to be crafted, something what he happily agreed on, (even few minutes before i wrote this he agreed to continue) so now its official, some day around Octuber the production of this model will start to test if i can work on 2 projects parallelly
Since this OC dont belong to me an its crafted to be like an FanArt, this model will be intended to be Freebie from DAY 1, so stay tuned for her production
FIX UPS FOR EXISTING MODELS
in august i did a poll with a 90%+ agree of some fixes and updated structural issues on some old models
Freya Crescent (Skeleton update and Corrective flexes addition + small fixes)
Alilkira V4 Bis (Corrective flexes addition)
Klem Hessit (Skeleton update and Corrective flexes addition + cloth improvement)
Angela Cross (Skeleton update and Corrective flexes addition + small fixes + provisory Rivet variant)
planned for November
now its confirmed all these task begin performed in November
details of the objective its extended the life usage of some of my fav models and give an chance to use Angela Body base to craft Rivet (including her arm) as a provisory model like where "female asriel one"
Some geometry refinement on freya face and gesture overhaul on Alilkira and Klem to be finally on par with Holly and Faraday
So.... what was the plan?
My idea its try to work on all these thing more slowly but parallelly like Working on Flint model during the production of Faraday
or working on fixes on several models, while finishing one full project
Can sound a bit messy, but i will see if is less irritating for me work on small fragments on several and varied projects stages, than make all big chunk of work in a single one looking constantly what I'm not meeting the deadline what are always moving thanks to the recurrent bugs on a new model,
things will done when are done to my consideration, to not repeat the Sally Model incident, what i will work in a while,
so i dont have an specific deadlines for any of these proyects but im pretty sure i can finish all before Xmas... maybe Flint can be done in november... maybe late December, i prefer work slow and sure on her or any other project than constantly struggling on the same model having days don't doing anything while i can use these days on fixing some random and smaller problems on current models, and eventually have several things done in a short period of time, so lets see how all its going
HOLLY update:
this one maybe its more related to the next year
Holly will receive a bit of functional and Cosmetic update for her next iteration
(extra variants planned for her next update)
Sally Incident:
During the production of Sally acorn faced several issues related to IRL to in the Production
starting from a 2 weeks on bed from a random FLU and really bugged production due a blender corruption lead in a lot of delays,
Originally Sally where intended to be an trolling project where the Poll are rig from the beginning and the idea where initially Do Amy Rose... and Sally if she where relevant enough in the poll, for my surprise she won, and the main idea where do Amy and Sally anyways, however i fell sick, and cannot do Amy and just focus on Sally since she won,
Also since that delay affect on the won Sally model and the Priority where focus on Renamon, i just hang pending the extra cloths on Sally, something what to the date didn't was accomplish and i need to give apologies to that, the model will still on "Beta" (tecnically its done just need more props) for inderteminate time, the plan will add more props when Amy will crafted at some point of the next year
Halt for Free models:
Since the stock of current patreon models are kinda small and the next models updates/fixes (including Rivet and Flint the rat) will be Freebies i decided to halt All free releases of models until the next year
Leaving
Goats
Sally
Renamon
Faraday
to Patreon only models until late Febraury when Sally will be released for free when a new model patreon model replaced her in the stock, then Goats for march and so on
I guess that is all friends, really sorry to make large wall texts but its important to me make everyone stay up to date when things like this happens to me specially when you invest an amount of your well earned money to me to keep doing stuff and i will never will able to thank all you enough for all this! thanks to stay with me fellas! i hope take the step again! and see ya soon!
