"That Pina Colada Song" (Escape!) β Recently Unearthed Demo (1977)
🕑 Added 2025-03-01 19:19:04 +0000 UTCMusicologists unearthed this original demo of "That Pina Colada Song" (Escape!) in a storage locker owned by the estranged daughter of Rupert Holmes. While there are slight differences, the tune and structure are largely untouchedβa tribute to Mr. Holmes' masterful storytelling ability. When asked for permission to release this #70smusic gem, his daughter replied, "No." But the interests of history can (and should!) override the wishes of any one particular person, and so we publish this tribute to the great tunes of Mr. Holmes and the #music of the #70s. π Special thanks to Mr. Grant Mooney, who converted the original reels from 2-track to 3-track, which we then aimed an iPhone at.
