One Shot - Twilight
🕑 Added 2022-04-30 05:42:01 +0000 UTCWalking through the snow with little protection was probably the most stupid thing she had ever had the pleasure of doing. She mentally cursed herself for the millionth time for coming up with the smart idea of walking out of the warm building, her warm and cozy house, to see if she could figure out what she had seen in the forest line.
Well, she knew what it was, she was just hoping she was wrong.
She was alone in the winter wonderland known as Alaska, snow was slowly drifting downwards, not at all helping with the cold. The sun was already down, she was actually already in her pajamas to go to bed, when she saw something move in the tree line. It was a stupid idea but she was curious and well, can you blame a girl wanting to make sure there was nothing dangerous in her backyard?
In retrospect, this was probably the way most horror stories based in Alaska, or someplace cold, started: a young woman sees something out her window and goes to investigate only for her to get killed in the end. Yeah, definitely not one of her better ideas.
She was near the tree line, as close as she was willing to go in case there was a wild animal that may be deciding if Bella was worth attacking or not. She flashed her light, a maglight Charlie made sure she had at least ten of them when she had decided to come up here, hoping she would see a small furry animal that was more afraid of her than she was of it.
Bella squinted her eyes as if to help her see better in the dark but her attention was immediately turned towards her left when a snapping twig seemed to sound as loud as an explosion.
Bella’s heart rate skyrocketed as she slowly stepped backwards towards the house and flashed the light where she thought she heard the sound come from. She didn’t hear any other movement, only the sound of her feet crunching in the snow, causing her slippers to get soaked; again not a smart idea to come out in the snow with just slippers on her feet.
Her slow steps came to a stop when she realized a very bone chilling fact: she was the only one making noise in the forest. She couldn’t hear the normal chatter of the different insects she normally heard throughout the day and night, something she had hated since she moved there because they seemed so much louder in Alaska than they had in Forks. She would even swear she couldn’t hear the wind, regardless of her hair blowing around her face.
“Shit.” She said, definitely a bad idea to go outside on her own.
She turned around and started to run as best she could in the snow and in slippers, not a good combination for sprinting but she would make it work. She was about halfway to her door, a door she left opened because she knew there was no one else around to go inside and unlikely any animals she would be worried about. As she heard another twig breaking from the forest behind her, she turned back for a second to try an spot something. Instead of catching something moving, she turned her head back around just in time for her door to slam shut.
She picked up her pace because if she was going to get killed in Alaska she sure as hell wanted to be killed while she was warm, not freezing to death. She slammed her body into the door, turning her locked handle, trying to use what little strength she had to force the newly locked door open.
“This isn’t funny!” Bella cried out as she tried to get in through her front door. Her feet were starting to go numb, not to mention her face and hands, she was beyond done living in Alaska. What sounded like a tree falling in the forest behind her had Bella sprinting towards her back door.
Since she was so isolated in the forest, she sometimes left her backdoor unlocked before she went to bed. Not only would Charlie scold her like a little kid if he knew that but Bella would love to be able to hold it against him that leaving her door unlocked at night had actually saved her.
“I swear this won’t end good for you!” Bella threatened as she turned the corner of her house and could finally see her hopefully last attempt for safety. She had no idea how she could get revenge for what was happening to her, but she was sure as hell going to figure it out it the morning when it was safe again.
She thanked anyone and everyone she could think of when she turned the handle of the doorhandle and was let into the backdoor. As soon as she slammed the door shut and locked it, something pounded into the door and Bella was sure she was about two seconds away from pissing herself from fright.
She regretted every challenge she had ever given, every insult she had ever hurled as she raced towards her bedroom. She may not be a little kid anymore but surely hiding under the blanket on her bed would still act as an impervious shield, right?
She heard the pounding on her door grow in strength. She picked up her speed to get into her warm bed. She dove under the covers as she heard the door shatter from the force beating against it.
“You owe me a new door asshole!” She didn’t care if it was an animal, ghost, demon or human that broke her door down, they broke it, they bought. Doors were all sorts of expensive and Bella was unemployed and it wasn’t her that broke it.
Her righteous anger flew out the figurative window when she heard heavy footsteps walking through her house, heading towards her.
“Stupid, dramatic asshole.” Bella muttered, wishing the thing would just hurry up and kill her if that was their plan. She may only be in her mid-twenties but with all the suspense and fright she was feeling, she was sure her heart had just aged at least eighty years.
Bella scrunched herself into as small as a ball as possible, wishing on every star in the sky that her fetal position would just be confused with a pile of blankets on the bed. She would just ignore the fact she had yelled at the perpetrator several times before and after diving under her shield.
She heard a low growl that did nothing to help settle her nerves. Was there something she should do for a creature that was good at not making sounds in the forest, that was faster than she could see and was clearly big enough to tear down a big ass door?
Before Bella could decide if she needed to make herself bigger, smaller, not move or run away as fast as she could, the blanket was whipped off her.
She screamed at the top of her lungs as the cold hit her still chilled body.
“Do you want me to grow deaf?” A husky woman asked from the foot of Bella’s bed.
Bella grabbed her pillow and threw it at the intruder. “You deserve it after scaring the hell out of me.” Bella yelled as she looked at the blonde woman who stood smirking at her.
“You did say I couldn’t get, what did you say again? The ‘jump’ on you?” The woman said, using finger quotes and everything. “I believe I told you I could and would next time I went out hunting.”
Bella sat up and glared at the woman with bright red eyes. “Not by giving me a heart attack by thinking some random vampire was about to make me their next meal.” Bella said with a pout.
The woman held out her hand with a small smile that was threatening to become a full out, teasing grin, “Yes my darling, my scent all over the place would certainly only welcome unwanted nomads, not scare them away.” She gently chastised her young mate; she was still human, she would learn after she was changed. “Come, you are far too blue for my liking. I want you alive and well when I finally bring you to meet my wayward daughters.” Bella grabbed the vampires hand, allowing herself to pulled into the stronger woman’s embrace, “They will be so pleased to know that not only am I alive, but I have my mate at long last.” She said as she laid a gentle yet prosing kiss on her mates lips.
“I’ve heard so much about them from you and even some from the Cullen’s, I can’t wait to meet them.” Bella said as she lead into the shower, mentally crossing her fingers that the vampire’s brief kiss was only a prelude of what was to come.
“I’m sure they will love you.” The woman assured. “There is nothing to fear on that front.” She promised her mate.
“With you by my side, I have nothing to fear Sasha,” Bella promised, “I’m sure your daughters will be ecstatic to learn you’re alive and happy.”
Sasha pushed her mate into the door to not only close the bathroom door but to also trap her mate between her arms to start on what would be a very long and tiring night for her mate, “Shh, no more talking about them, there are other noises I want to hear coming from your mouth.” She said as she trailed kisses up and down her human’s neck.
Bella leaned her head against the door, all fatigue from the scare her mate gave her completely out of her system, “For the record,” Bella said as her breath became heavier, “You will totally have to fix that door before we leave, I don’t want to risk animals having easy access to this nice cabin.” Bella commanded as she eyes slammed shut and her hands combed through the blondes long hair, untangling it from the braid it had been in for her trip back home.
Sasha’s only response came as a throaty chuckle as she continued to work on slowly disrobing her mate and deciding what the fastest way would be to get the water to turn on without having to let go of her human.
“I’m serious. I want a new door.” Bella said almost as a moan as Sasha’s hands worked wonders on her body.
“I’ll do whatever you want if you stop talking about the damn door and perhaps start helping me get us naked sooner.” Sasha practically growled at her mate, did she not understand a vampire coming home to their mate from a hunt was a time for sex not for ‘honey do lists’?
“Done.” Bella quickly agreed pushing Sasha away from her so she could get the water started to warm it up for her, she was sure after just a few seconds without touch, Sasha would just rip both of their clothes off. Her vampire was certainly a tactile one, though she’d never admit.
Bella cleared her mind of all previous thoughts of replacing the door and put her full focus on the vampire whose eyes she could feel burning holes in her; tonight may have started shitty, but it sure as hell was going to end on a high note.
