One Shot - Hermione/Fleur

There was a chuckle from someplace in the living room, something she studiously ignored, when she made another round around her house to make sure everything would be okay while she was gone for the week. She would never hear the end of it if Crookshanks ran out of food and Harry got the wrong type; her cat was very particular.
“I think you have everything love.” A melodic voice teased her from the living room as Hermione went back into her room and closest to go over possible options again. “If there is something you need, we will have it for you. Do not worry so much.”
“I don’t want to have to bother anyone.” Hermione said as she walked into the living room to see her Kneazle purring happily away in the blondes’ lap. Hermione plopped down next to the blonde, earning a small meow of annoyance from the furry creature from the jostling. The blonde chuckled at the brunette, earning her a small glare. “It’s not funny Fleur! This is the first time I’m meeting your family, your whole family. If they are anything like you, I have to be completely prepared for anything.”
Fleur arched an eyebrow at the insult, “I’m going to ignore the fact you just called me and my family demanding because you are clearly very nervous right now and not in your right mind.” Fleur gently urged the big Kneazle to get off her lap and turned to fully face her distraught mate. The blonde gently grabbed one of Hermione’s hands and only started to talk when she had her mate’s full attention. “You will be fine.” She stressed. “The most important thing to Veela’s are their mates, all mates are practically revered because they help us so much. I promise you, you have nothing to fear. They will love you.”
Hermione looked into Fleur’s eyes, seeing nothing but genuine meaning to her words. Fleur had the upmost faith in her family adoring Hermione. Fleur always had the upmost faith in her family. In every single letter she wrote the brunette, Fleur always gushed about something a family had done or said, always promising Hermione would love them when they would eventually meet. Hermione was sure by the time she graduated from Hogwarts, Ron and Harry both knew as much about Fleur’s family as the brunette did herself.
Hermione rolled her eyes at how dramatic her girlfriend could be before standing up and straightening out her clothes.
“I hope so.” Hermione took a deep breath, quickly shrunk and summoned all her luggage to fit in her robe pockets and held out a hand to help Fleur to her feet, “I suppose now is as good a time as any.” She said with a nervous smile. Where was her Gryffindor courage when she needed it? Probably off someplace doing it’s best to not piss off or insult a Veela.
“You’ll love them.” Fleur said as she grabbed her mate’s hand. She allowed her mate to pull her up and then wrapped her arms around her. Fleur could feel the nerves coming off of the younger woman in waves and Fleur was impressed her mate was hiding it so well. If it wasn’t for Fleur’s connection with the woman, she would have thought Hermione was nervous to forget something rather than meet an entire clan of Veela who, Fleur would never admit out loud to anyone, were sometimes known to be judgmental. Oh well, she was sure her mate would be fine if not overcrowded at times.
With a pop and a kiss to Hermione’s cheek, Fleur apparated them straight to her room in France.
“There, I won’t even make you go through the front door and face everyone at once.” Fleur teased with a smirk, giving her mate a peck on her cheek. Perhaps her family wouldn’t mind if they were a little late?
“Exactly how far are we from the rest of your family?” Hermione asked, more than happy to continue what Fleur was starting. Fleur gently pushed her backwards, leading her towards what Hermione hoped was a bed as Fleur’s hands moved under her shirt.
“They’re in another room.” Fleur assured as she pushed her mate down onto her bed. Fleur couldn’t seem to get enough of Hermione, she couldn’t stop touching her and it seemed Hermione was of the same mind.
“Which room Fleur.” Hermione asked as Fleur’s mouth started to work wonders on her throat.
“It’s fine.” Fleur assured her mate, unable to stop herself from indulging in what, in Fleur’s honest opinion, was the best desert anyone could ask for. At least she will be when Fleur could get her clothes off.
“Where, Fleur?” Hermione asked trying her best to sound assertive and demanding but the breathiness in her tone ruined any effort at trying to sound serious.
“We are all downstairs.” An elegant, accented voice said from somewhere in the room, acting like a cold splash of water on the couple.
Hermione yelped and pushed Fleur away from as Fleur groaned and rolled off the bed. Figures she would fall for the oldest trick in the book she had seen many of her older cousins fall for when she was growing up. Figures the same joke of infusing not only the entrance but her room with Veela pheromones would be pulled on her; she really should have known better. Veela were known to play with their pheromones, it was how they got their reputation for seducing wizards over the generations.
Fleur helped Hermione to her feet as she glared at her mother standing in the doorway with an amused look on her face, “We were going to go down in a little bit.” Fleur told her mother, upset the woman had seen fit to fetch them.
“Oh? Was that before or after seducing your mate in your childhood bedroom where we would all know downstairs?” The older blonde teased her daughter, absolutely giddy at having caught her daughter; this encounter would be something she could tell her future grandchildren about to embarrass Fleur and Hermione even more while endearing the grandchildren to her.
Hermione huffed in annoyance, she couldn’t believe Fleur would have let them continue when her family could hear! This was not the first impression she had been wanting to give when first meeting her girlfriends family! At least she had already met Apolline and knew first hand the older blond was the one to give Gabby her pension for mischief.
“I’m so sorry about that Apolline, I have no idea what came over us.” Hermione said with a flushed face, barely able to meet the older Veela’s eyes.
“No, I’m sorry Hermione, dear.” Apolline said as she practically waltzed forward towards her future daughter-in-law, if Fleur would ever propose to the woman, and pulled her into a hug for a proper greeting. “You see, some of Fleur’s cousins were simply trying to play games with Fleur for not introducing you to them for so long. It was meant more as a harmless joke against Fleur, they meant no harm to you.” The older Veela said as she pulled away from Hermione with a wink, absolutely giddy about finally having the woman in her home with the whole family. “Come now, I can show you around the house as most everyone is already outside enjoying themselves and Fleur can air out her room so this little incident doesn’t happen later tonight; unless you want it to of course. There is no shame in couple’s fully enjoying each other’s company of course.”
“Mother.” Fleur hissed as she looked on helplessly as her mother practically dragged a red faced Hermione out the door. As much as Fleur didn’t want to leave Hermione alone with her mother, or anyone in her family for that matter, she did have to clear her room of pheromones before they slept in here that night because she knew, without a doubt, Hermione would not be willing to have anything to do with sex while her parent’s home for a long time.
Hermione gave a quick, pleading glance towards Fleur as Apolline dragged her from the room.
“Don’t worry Fleur, I won’t do anything I wouldn’t want done to my own wife. Now, Hermione, let me show you Fleur’s childhood home as she should have shown you a few years ago when you two first started dating.”
Fleur groaned as she channeled her own Veela to start working on canceling out her cousin’s hormones. Based off of how her mother was acting, she had no doubt she and Hermione were in for one crazy week with her Veela family and hopefully, if everything turned out right, she would be able to propose to her mate.
With a huff of annoyance, Fleur looked around her room and not for the first time, started to think perhaps proposing with her entire family not too far from her probably wouldn’t be the best idea if Hermione wanted to leave and celebrate on their own. Oh well, Hermione would learn eventually that there were hardly any secrets among a Veela family and sex wasn’t so much a taboo as it was a way of living for Veela. Maybe if her family embarrassed Hermione enough over the week and got Hermione mad enough for Fleur accidently not being as forthcoming about some of her family’s traits, perhaps they could indulge in angry sex after they were home? One could hope.
