Hello all I have paid a membership here and downloaded the A320 CGM sound package. It has ruined my other sceneries (e.g. inibuilds Doha) and for some reason all my new scenery installs manifest and layout.json files are pointing to this sound pack and sceneries have become unrecognisable. Did I do anything wrong>?

The A320 sound package for the Phoenix isn't good. The reverse thrust is always fully present in the Isle. Warnings are inaudible, and when they do occur, they are drowned out by the rumbling, whistling sound of the engines. A flight with the engines whistling is fundamentally impossible for more than half an hour. Very, very annoying. Please update. Otherwise, a relaxing flight is impossible. Thanks.

Addition: reduction seems to happen only when you reach cruize altitude, not when you go from TOGA/FLX to CLIMB. Seems incorrect.

Engine reduction from FLX / TOGA to climb doesn't really feel any different. Just feels in constant TOGA. Playing on Fenix. Latest build. Cabin chime doesn't work. Overall, will probably switch back to default sounds :(

I hope that the engine startup sound for Fenix A320 can be abit longer. Currently the startup sound stops suddenly after a few seconds, while the engine is still starting up halfway.

The Version of the MSFS A320 CFM Sound Pack is v1.04 , it had 4 updates since the first release (Engines tweaks and more ... ) The Fenix Mod (v1.03) had 3 minor configuration fixes and it uses the v1.04 of the sound Pack

I am trying this pack out now. Really great work! I think I like them better than the default so far. The only thing I noticed was that if you start the APU on ground power, turn the bleed on, then disconnect the GPU, you get the cold and dark start sounds. (3 beeps, cockpit fan blowing, etc). The sounds you hear are identical to the sounds you would hear when you git the ground power button on a cold start

Nope not a stupid Question 😁 Answer : - Yes ! The sounds can have impact on the Performance if they are designed in a very complex way (Too many sound filters enabled) or Compressed using a Lossless Quality (original sounds files packed not Compressed ) - The impact is rather negligible on the FPS ( -1 .. -2 fps) and Mostly no FPS Drop at all but the Loading Time ⏳ of the aircraft can be affected !! ( loading +200mb of sound data require a Few Seconds More ) 👉The Fenix Sound Mod is a little bit Complex ( Not Complex as the F-35/F-18 🤕 ) and also it is Compressed using the "Vorbis" format to get a smaller packed size and a faster Loading time but with a small cut on the Sound Quality .

Yes it can be installed in another way : - Move the "SimObjects" from "A320CFM_Sp(PSim)" inside the Main Prosim aircraft folder ("prosim-a320") - Rename the "sound.cfg" found inside the Default "prosim-a320" aircraft "sound" folder - update the "Layout.json" file by using the "build.py" or "MSFSLayoutGenerator" tools

I did it differently now. Renamed the sound.xml in the folder. Placed the files in it, then deleted the two entries and ran the layout generator. That seems to have worked. But there was no way i got it to work when copied seperatly into the community folder.

Hi, So these are my suggestions for improvement: The engine humming is unfortunately still unrealistic when spooling up and I don't think there is enough of it in the sense that it's not dominant enough (only in the cabin near the engines, not in the cockpit) Especially over the wing the humming should be the main sound you hear from the engines. Generally, the humming fades away too quickly when spooling up (in my experience and memory). But most importantly as mentioned before it doesn't sound right when spooling up, which is to me the biggest issue as of now. Also, I don't know if it's only me but my button, lever and ground roll sounds are missing. I'm guessing they aren't included though so to make this soundpack a realistic experience they should definitely be added. I'm really hoping that these suggestions are considered about since this is the only soundpack that exists and has the potential of being actually good. :)

This is an issue when updating the "layout.json" file - If you tried the “Manual” update then it could be Typo added or a character is missing ( , ) when Pasting the new Parameter from the "INFO" file 👉Try the “build.py” tool , it is the safest way to update the "layout.json" if it works for you . the package is unusable. After following the step by step about 20 times the same thing always happens, when opening MSFS the Fenix plane is no longer there, it disappears.

I had version Mod v1.02 of the sound pack installed and the instructions with that update to add to the layout.json had different "size" and "date" values to the version now (Mod v1.02a). for the "path": SimObjects/Airplanes/FNX320/Sound/A320_CFM_SM.PC.pck. Should I manually overwrite the older layout.json entry or can I keep both?

I'm not sure about using it. The sounds should be deeper and have more bass. When engines are spinning up the sounds not so good.

The new update for the Fenix CFM is great! The engine sounds are perfect, can you please include an option to make the avionics sounds as loud as the previous version? Can you please include the bus contactor sounds for both the batteries & the main generators because those were great! Other than that the engine sounds are now much more accurate, good job :)

Ok so did a full flight here is my final feedback; the wind sounds in the cockpit are too quiet, please increase it's volume by 3-5 db. The engine startup resonance sounds are missing, please add them. The battery 400 hz sound is missing when both batteries are on but without AC power. There are now cabin sounds for wind and air conditioning however it's only heard at the rear, in the front of the cabin everything is silent, please make it where it's heard across the entire cabin like in the A340! Finally the engine buzzsaw sounds of the CFM56 is missing, please add them back like in the first version released (v1.01). Other than that it's great! Please keep up the great work :)

In the latest update everything sounds much better, however still missing the resonance sound of the engines firing up and now I have no buzzsaw noise in the cabin at all. I hope these can be addressed in a future update but its at this point it is definitely an improvement over the default sounds :)

Ok so some feedback for the latest update (v1.03): Overall GREAT sounds! I like how the avionics and packs are louder now so that's great! The new engine sounds are good too however I have yet to try a full flight. The wind sounds in this are a bit quiet so I hope it can be as loud as the previous version. The battery hum (400hz) sound is missing and the battery contactor sound is a bit delayed. I hope you can expand and add in additional sounds such as those for the cabin (cabin fans + cabin packs). I will give more updates after I try a full flight!

Any idea when the new cockpit sounds will be available for the Fenix? Also during engine start the engine sounds instantly cut in at 33% N2 rather than being smooth like before.

Hello and thank you for their Fenix Soundpack. Irgewndwie it sounds to me like the soundpack of the 737 CFM version in the X Plane. The engines are very quiet and muffled when spooling up and then suddenly very loud again when the engines have spooled up.

This really helps the Fenix for low-end sounds from cabin. I also find the high power sound much less dramatic and good sound volume from cabin and cockpit. Made a huge difference for me and makes taxi a really special experience now! Awesome job! Simon

I find the sounds in the cabin are still too quiet. Behind the wing is almost silent, and in front of the wing is too quiet. To me it would sound better if the volumes between the cabin and the cockpit were swapped (louder in the cabin and quieter in the cockpit).

I agree with you.A notch too loud from cockpit.It would be perfect to have engine sound turned a tiny little bit down.Not too much.And there is a little bug around 50%-N1.Except for that, this soundpack is very cool.It's nice to hear engine startup sound like in the real thing.And buzzsaw at high revs fades away nicely the more you climb to completly blend into wind sound reaching cruise altitude.Well done FTSim+.We're very close to it.

I just downloaded and tried them out - engine sounds a bit more realistic, but probably a bit too loud from the cockpit. I can't hear any flap sounds. Ground roll seems pretty good. I haven't tried too much else but I would say they are slightly better than the mediocre sounds that come as default.

CFM pack sounds great but there are many switches with no sound. For example Flaps and Speedbrake ( armed) don't have any sound.

The other packs worked, but I got this one successfully installed and there were massive sound spikes. I will be in flight and at practically idle thrust and all of a sudden this screaming loud engine noise comes about and drowns out every single other sound in the game
