Harmony Girls v0.5.1 Development Update #2
🕑 Added 2025-06-16 16:24:56 +0000 UTCIt was nice to spend a lot of time last week on the card game, where I was able to get a lot done. I've been working hard on the user interface design and programming for the cards in the hand. Despite spending most of my time on the card rework, I still spent some time finishing the last animation in Jamie and Zoey's exhibitionism event and got those animations built into webm's, coded, and sound added. I'll be spending most of my time this week working on animations to knock out as many of them as I can (I still have another to put through a poll to you all). This week, I want to talk about the work I've been doing on the card game rework in detail.
At this point, I've got the hand of cards working how I want them, but I've still got a lot of work to do. The cards hover nearly off the bottom of the screen until you move your mouse near them, when they slide out to become more visible (mobile will have a different system). Hovering over an individual card will shift that card out so it's fully visible and the other cards will shift sideways out of the way. At first, these shifts were instant, but I spent a lot of time, and headache, working on the code to have them slide over 0.15 seconds into their new positions.
With that completed, I reached a point where I needed to start implementation of the back end code to handle the individual cards and how the deck operates. Once I've implemented that, I can finish the hand UI for how things look when you play a card followed by drawing a new card afterward. This system is the bulk of the UI work for the implementation of the card game and I'll be happy to see it completed. I really want things to look good and move how you would expect them to. It's a lot of trouble, but the end result should end up pretty nice, even if the UI elements like the cards themselves are only temporary until the UI overhaul. Still, the underlying behavior would stay in the future so it's a good idea to get this working nicely.
With my rambling finished, I've just got the animation poll and the new wallpaper left to talk about for this week. The winner of the last animation poll, by a landslide and with agreement between Patreon and SubscribeStar supporters, was Zoey Double Pen! There won't be another poll until next Monday which I'll mention in the next development update. Finally, the wallpaper this week is the start of a new series, and one that is a little bit different. I'll be making a wallpaper for each girl in the game that currently has kink content, and each wallpaper will feature that kink. Because of the nature of some of the kinks, I've decided I won't be posting any kink which can be disabled by the in-game kink preference menu, but I'll still be making a wallpaper featuring that kink and I'll add it to the wallpapers folder. I'm creating friendlier versions of those wallpapers so those who don't want to see that kink won't feel left out. With that being said, this latest wallpaper features Lily in the bathroom teasing the camera. The kinky version won't be posted here, but you can grab it from the wallpapers folder if you enjoy what Lily's kink has to offer.
