One fun fact is in medieval France they would take a saint's relic on little jaunts to neighboring towns or countrysides only to return home at the end, like a little vacation. Locals would act like if a celebrity rolled into town for a season, often being annoyed and sometimes ridiculing them for abandoning their home church
