Frightened of the Dreadmaw itself

Regarding the "Dreadmaw, Reforged" item: " At the end of a Long Rest, you must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or gain the Frightened condition for 24 hours. " Frightened of what? The condition in both 5e and 5.24 works regarding movement and disadvantage in relation to a source of fear. Without that visible source the condition is meaningless. Whats the source of fear here?
