Artificer - Mortis Engineer
🕑 Added 2024-12-01 21:43:31 +0000 UTCHello good hunter,
As promised an artificer subclass that is compatible with Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt
And as promised it is free.
This subclass blends necromancy and mad science. Reanimate corpses, command undead minions, and wield devastating lightning on the battlefield.
I also included the Corpse Bag magic item to carry your undead army, which you can craft with your magic item infusion

Here's a breakdown of the subclass' main features:
Level 3: Galvanized Flesh
Reanimate corpses as zombies by driving electrified rods into their nervous systems.
Zombies gain temporary hit points, and a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to your Intelligence modifier.
Control up to 2 zombies at once (increasing up to 4 by level 17). They explode with lightning when destroyed, damaging nearby enemies.
Level 5: Death Lightning & Shock Troopers
Swap Necrotic damage for Lightning damage (or vice versa) with your spells.
Your zombies can deliver touch-range spells for you, letting you stay out of harm’s way.
Zombies gain enhanced mobility (40 ft speed) and a System Overload ability to stun enemies with repeated shocks.
Level 9: Unending Legion
Animate multiple zombies at once with your lightning spells, provided you have enough corpses.
Enhance your zombies with metallic shells, granting them improved AC, saving throws, and immunity to Lightning damage.
Level 15: Flesh Titan
Transform a zombie into a Flesh Golem for 1 minute, supercharging it with electrical energy.
When the golem dies, it explodes in a massive burst of Lightning damage, devastating everything nearby.
Take Care!

Straight up, one of the most creative classes I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. I am absolutely trying this out!

By far the sickest artificer subclass Ive ever seen holy shit dude

The thing is that if I were to do such a list, those spells would then belong to WotC legally, so I'd rather not haha

Concerning Artificer spells, will there be a future list of all the Steinhardt's spells that can be considered as artificer spells or should we simply take what wotc has given us and add what the subclass gives?

I compared and contrast the Artificer: Battle Smith to this one and this one seems more offensive than defensive. Would definitely be an interesting story to tell if a player would choose this as a sub-class.
