J Peterman was a notable vintage clothing catalog in the 90âs. But instead of listing items they would have whimsical stories about the clothes. Hereâs a real example: âOut of the corner of your eye, you notice that the man thatching the roof of that sensational thick-walled cottage in Dorset isnât merely wearing corduroy pants⌠but extra-wide-wale corduroy pants.â It goes on for while after that haha. Also Peterman went bankrupt in 1999 and the actor who played Peterman (John OâHurley) became an investor to help revive the company and itâs still going today.
