Episode 316, when Whitebeard and Shanks talked and clashed, was when it was first said that Shanks and Buggy were both Roger apprentices. Just goes to show Oda plans things you wouldn't believe. In fact, Rayleigh was shown in Buggy's flashback in episode 8!
