Episodes have info cards in the middle. Many are crucial and some info is not always explained by the story, so it's best to read every one for world building just in case. For reference, the human territory is almost the size of Texas or France (until Maria fell) and assumes to be the very last of the human race, 1.26 million humans (now 1 million). Did you catch that the government sent 250,000 citizens, including Armin's grandpa, to the Titans? (Gov told them they can retake Maria but it was really to save food.) The Titans' origin is still unknown after 100 years inside the walls, it reminds me of the Walking Dead.
