Charlotte frowned, digesting this information, then gingerly stepped up onto the pedestal. Jay moved to one side to make room for her. That was a scary thought. Charlotte could not imagine how horrible it would be to remain conscious, trapped inside an immobile body made of brass, waiting as the seconds ticked by until the end...
"Gonna chicken out now?" Jay taunted, meeting Charlotte's gaze in the reflection. "Jusht say your safe word and it'll all be over, honey..."
