Ritona's House
🕑 Added 2016-03-06 05:08:50 +0000 UTC Off to the background studio! This will be the layout of Ritona's house. Once again, side note: many things are censored as to not spoil anything in the game. This will be the biggest background art in the series so far at 3840 x 1080, making it bigger than Sol and Mils front yard. We are experimenting with camera control where you the player can take control of the zoom function and look around the house so there will be elements of searching and interacting. Thats right. Silence the Pedant will not be a kinetic novel, but resemble more of a point and click type game (though you will still be reading a lot since it's still very story based).
I think we're going to do closed beta-testing offered to our patrons. Would you guys be interested in doing so when the game becomes something that's playable? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'm slightly worried about the point and click aspect, as it seems like it's going to interrupt the storytelling flow of the game for me. But considering how well you guys have handled Fault 1 & 2, I believe we're in good hands here. More than happy to help beta-test, but like you've said, it's sad that it's almost certainly going to have to have spoilers...

It looks great!! Also Beta Testing sounds really cool!
Silvernine
Yeah I would be quite interested in play-testing the beta when it becomes clickable. Quite interested to see how the Point and click will be used. At the same time though, I'm a bit worried but like you guys said, as long as it's not tedious then it should be OK.

Point and click sounds pretty cool as long as it doesn't require you to click on some really obscure part of the screen. I have nightmares of trying to find the correct spots to click on when I read through Kara no Shoujo. I'd definitely be in for the beta it contains the beginning of StP. I'd rather not spoil myself otherwise.
CursedFein
That's really cool, I hope we can also use the zoom function in the previous games at some point like the recent update with milestone 1 with the 3D camera of milestone 2 side:above.

Do more than that remember you are not the one who has to clean up the mess so go nuts. Make it scream, make it cry, traumatize it and make it run back to it's parents. Video games are complex computer programs so torture tests are more than beneficial for it's development.

Ahh, so excited to see the direction you're taking the game in! "I think we're going to do closed beta-testing offered to our patrons. Would you guys be interested in doing so when the game becomes something that's playable? We'd love to hear your thoughts." And yes, definitely! Everything to make the game better for release!

That sounds neat, I hope you find some nice lore items in there in addition to plot related stuff.
lumpensolker
Point and click with hidden stuffs?! Ohmygawd, hype level is off the charts right now.
RadiantBreeze
Love the multitude of glass pieces; it seems like a very nice place to live. As for beta testing, I would also be interested in testing out this feature when available... so long as the section we are testing doesn't have too many spoilers (:
ALICE IN DISSONANCE
The balance between point and click vs reading will be a delicate one for sure. I don't think you should worry much though... since I very much dislike "busy work" type adventure games where half the time you're doing things that are vaguely related to the plot. It's just a way to unload and pack more information about the world for people who are interested, rather than having people open a dictionary because ... that's kinda dull.
ALICE IN DISSONANCE
We're not quite sure yet. I'm guessing we're gonna want you to to try and break things. I'd rather really not hear about opinions of the story especially if its in an unfinished state but we will let you know before we start for sure. Another thing I’m concerned about … is that this will definitely spoil things for you guys and that’s kinda sad. We’ll think of something when the time comes...

I am not interested in point&click games much, but for a VN it certainly isn't a bad thing. As long as the game is still a VN as it's core (meaning: you won't have to point and click all the time). But I highly doubt this will be the case here. This is also a great addition for getting some more background information about different characters (mainly Ritona) as you are able to put in text, thoughts and information, you normally wouldn't be able to (I.E. Ritona saying how cuuuuute this lil' teddy looks like and how she would love to dress him up in some different clothes <3 ). Also: beta testing? No need to ask me that! Just gimme that invite, plx.

If you do add all those hidden things, it'd be neat if there was a way to track if you find everything. Or would that ruin the point? hmm
The Mighty Lord Noobius
When it comes to beta testing do you want player feedback along with bugs that the player noticed or do you just want our feedback?
Whimsee
Count me in for beta testing! If anything, I also want to see how the engine would handle something like that. Which means I'll do my own share of experimentation and deliberately try to break things. :P
Bytes487
YAY! finally an interaction feature :P StP is so going to be the best game out of fault :) i hope the length of the game will be longer than the first 2 :D hopefully. I cant wait to Beta Test this scene/feature for you AiD :)
Sacae
Oh my god, now Im more excited AiD. Would love to beta-test this. Point and click sounds fun.
Mashiro
Would definitely be interested in beta-testing anything you guys have for us

Oh! It would be awesome if Ritona stopped you from searching certain drawers with her getting angrier the more you try. If you persist, she kicks you out! XD

Hmm... It's just how I'd imagine her house would be. It's actually cleaner than I had anticipated, though, given she's a royal guard, there's probably a caretaker that manages it. Pertaining to your question, I'd love to beta test it!
Jenny
I also would love to try and beta-test this. It would be cool to interact with the scene and read little tidbits about stuff in the background in general.
ALICE IN DISSONANCE
I'm already writing a crap ton of text to reward people who goes through things thoroughly. I love finding jokes and small plot stuff that adds to the world when I play these types of games.
Dan Park
Oh my god! Point and click?! I'd love it! I also like beta-testing!!
Sacae
With it being more of a point and click game, I might me OCD to not miss things lol. Not that I mind, I have a soft spot for point and click adventure.
Sacae
You can count me in being interested to beta-testing.
