FAULT - SILENCE THE PEDANT PRELIMINARY CHARACTER DESIGNS
🕑 Added 2015-07-11 08:40:43 +0000 UTC so because we're crazy, we're going to make a prequel to the fault series called "Silence the Pedant" (StP from this point on). whats so crazy about that? you might ask. well, because StP takes place 5 years before milestone one, every single character needs to be resigned to look 5 years younger. damn teenagers growing up fast and all... with milestone 2 side:above's development being almost over, we've gotten a head start on the character design of Selphine (9) and Ritona (14). StP will take place in Rughzenhaide (pronounced Roo-zen-hide btw) and we're aiming to finish it before it becomes 2016. no promises on that date though. also as a side note, milestone 2 side:below will come after StP for narrative purposes. we've thought long and hard about this decision and we believe this sequence will be the most effective in telling the over all story of fault. Silence the Pedant is a story that ive wanted to do for a very very long time. its concept is actually older than milestone one and much of the plot has already been ironed out. (come to think of it, we're not sure if we've released these designs to the public... but hey, here they are.

the reason why the 2 milestone two's are taking so long is partially because of the camera system we introduced halfway into production. we basically had to redo the entire game to take advantage of the rig. this meant resigning a bunch of the stills (event CG's), re-output all of the character sprites so it will work in 3D, and had to adapt to a completely different mind set of design. we're also confident about StP (we hope) because this one has been simmering in the pot for quite some time now. the hardest part of making these games is getting the story as perfect as I can and that's what really eats up most of the time. that part is basically done. i just have to write it now. thanks for Ritona's compliments! we're still tweaking but we're pretty sure shes gonna come out looking good.

I'm rather pleasantly surprised to see you aiming for what looks like two consecutive comiket launches. Previously, based off the timing of prior events, I thought you'd be looking at a year or more full time between each game. On a side note you were very successful at making young Ritona adorable, I particularly like the second one from the left.
