Doakes was the original person to say “surprise motherfucker” that caught me by complete surprise on my first watch. He’s also only an asshole to Dexter because he can see through his persona that he puts on, he knows there’s something off about it. Side note Debra (Jenifer carpenter) is a phenomenal actress the ending scene with the we love Dexter stuff was in his head just how he sees himself here
