Yeah, no. We know that's not true.. about clawing her way up.. Deb-now she's the one who clawed her way up. Maria is only there because of politics (similar to nepotism). Deb is actually good.

The thing with Laguerta is she annoying and she is a very decisive character, but I think a lot of people miss that her antagonising Deb is down to the fact Laguerta thinks Deb is only there because of nepotism. Harry was a much loved cop and Captain Matthews is a family friend. Whereas Laguerta probably had to claw her way through the "old boys club" and learn how to play the game. Her ambition is annoying and blinds her to a lot of things, but she was humbled in this episode.
