Hemmer (the blind engineer) is an Aenar, a subspecies of the Andorians that we first saw in “Star Trek: Enterprise” season 4. About Spock, if you remember when we saw him in “The Cage” and in “Where No Man Has Gone Before” he was more emotional and actually smiled a couple of times. He wasn’t as rigid and stoic as he is later. I think Ethan Peck is portraying that Spock.

This is strange: Not anymore than ... Alamerain, count to four ...

Pikes decision to see what his future holds and what his fate holds him store for him can be seen in this scene. https://youtu.be/RVt8nloeMaY?feature=shared I think watching this clip from discovery isn’t spoiling anything. Pike is in the Klingon monastery as he talked about with Spock in episode one and has to get a temporal crystal to stop the big bad from this season of discovery. The Klingon monk tells him if he takes this crystal His fate will be what he sees.

You're right. Aenar are directly related to Andorians and live on Andoria with them. But they are blind. And you were on the right track, we were introduced to them in Enterprise.
