The story won't necessarily make it easy for them, as there will be drama and stuff. Then, I wanted a fun alliteration, so I did a couple tests and ended up with "Simple Spirits". I drew a couple of pages, I wanted it to be a "Boy Love" story.
Thomas: I remember Greg wanting to make a comic in forever. When he finally wrote one and showed it to me, it felt very... fanfic-y to me. The characters didn't have any depth and it was just "small guy swoons over big guy". I decided to take a go at it and he really loved the way I rewrote the scene. We added Red and Max as we thought those personalities were missing, and fleshed out everyone's backstory.
Now it feels more coherent and I love making these dorks talk to each other in my head and writing it down. I wrote the script in about 5 days, and rewrote a lot of it the year after, and rewrote the ending the year after that. We're really happy with how it is now and can't wait for everyone to read it!
