Chapter 1: The Security Guard

In Room 4027 of the employee building on the left side of the tower, a young man stared at himself in the mirror, with utterly shocked.
"Shit, this crazy thing called transmigration actually happened." The man in the mirror looked remarkably like him, almost as if they were cut from the same mold.

"Vought Group… Why does that sound familiar?" Cyrus frowned. As he tried to recall, a sharp pain suddenly interrupted his thoughts. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, suspecting it was a side effect of the transmigration.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Cyrus, are you okay? I heard something break in the hallway."
A familiar voice brought a slightly goofy white face to Cyrus's mind. The person outside was Blitz, another new employee starting today, a naturally cheerful guy who always had a smile for everyone. Though they had only interacted briefly, Cyrus could tell he was a good person.
"It's nothing, I just accidentally broke a cup," Cyrus responded loudly.
"Do you need me to call cleaning?"
"Buddy, it's just a broken cup."
After cleaning up the glass shards and water, Cyrus opened the door and walked out.
"You seem to be in a good mood, Cyrus," said Blitz, who was slightly shorter but visibly robust.
Cyrus couldn't tell him the real reason for his joy—being healthy again after three years of paralysis was indescribable.
While observing the spotless hallway, Cyrus said, "Joining Vought Group and working with superheroes has been a lifelong dream of mine. Now that it's come true, of course I'm happy."
Don't underestimate the job of a security guard. The salary, according to his memories, was a substantial five thousand dollars a month.
Walking beside him, Blitz laughed heartily. "I feel the same way, buddy."
"By the way, who's your favorite superhero? The speedster A-Train, or the recent sensation Homelander? Personally, I love Queen Maeve. She's incredibly sexy. In high school, I used to…"
Cyrus quickly interrupted Blitz's chatter. The names he mentioned struck Cyrus's memory like lightning. Although he had been bedridden for three years, his eyes could still move, and the nurse often played TV shows and anime for him.
The names Blitz mentioned were clearly characters from "The Boys."
Recalling the scenes of superheroes being ruthless, Cyrus felt a headache coming on. This world was far from safe, especially for someone working as a security guard at Vought Group, which was fraught with danger.
"Do you think it's too late for me to resign now?" Cyrus asked, feeling a bit helpless.
Blitz glanced at him. "Buddy, that joke's not funny at all."
As he spoke, he took out his phone and waved it in front of Cyrus. "Our task for today just came in. We're responsible for security at the filming set, and we need to be there in 20 minutes."
"Relax, our job is pretty easy. We just need to keep some crazy fans away."
"Okay, I'll wash my face and then we can go." Cyrus had just signed his work contract yesterday, and quitting now would mean paying a hefty penalty, which he couldn't afford.
After gathering with the others, they took a car to the filming set.
The set was cordoned off with yellow tape.
They could see a large number of fans holding light boards, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the superheroes. The atmosphere was electric, reminding Cyrus of the frenzied scenes of fans on TV.
"Shit, could you be any later? Just now, someone managed to sneak into the set… If anything goes wrong, you'll be fully responsible."
The person in charge of security was a sharp-tongued white woman from Vought Group, whose spit nearly hit Cyrus's face as she spoke.
"Aysia, they're just new recruits. I'll make sure they handle things properly." A burly man approached from a distance. He was Orl, the team captain of Cyrus's group.
Although Orl's position was not lower than Aysia's, there seemed to be some bad blood between them.
"Then keep an eye on these rookies," Aysia snapped, flipping her hair and walking towards the set with a swaying, tight-skirted figure.
Once she was out of sight, Orl spat on the ground and cursed, "Damn bitch, always bossing me around."
After venting his anger, Orl sternly assigned tasks to Cyrus and the others.
Cyrus was assigned to guard the exit of the set, standing in front of the crowd in his security uniform.
The job was indeed easy. It wasn't until noon that Queen Maeve, wearing a steel headband and leather skirt, emerged from a red sports car, surrounded by fans.
She enthusiastically took photos with fans and struck sexy poses for the media's flashing cameras.
Escorting the superheroes wasn't Cyrus's responsibility.
Queen Maeve didn't even notice Cyrus, but as she passed by him, a burning pain surged into Cyrus's eyes.
Suddenly, countless beams of light of varying thickness converged into a panel.
