Your guess is as good as mine. It certainly makes it easy to forget when you're looking at the card in isolation.

The screaming antelope level 3 has a base toughness of 12 but starts with Legendary Horns which adds 4 more. So it actually has 16 toughness at all times. Why is it designed that way, Am I missing something?
