Daycare in Canada while there are options (In AB it’s 10 dollars a day with subsidies) however the waitlists are insane. And if you have a child with a disability, it’s even harder. My daughter was kicked out of 2 daycares before getting an autism diagnosis, and we were waitlisted for 2 years to get into the proper daycare

Fun fact.. in Canada if you’re separated from your kids after daycare is subsidized. I work for 22$/h @ 24/h/w and I paid .30¢ a day for 2 kids ! The government also ups your baby bonus to $700 per kid when not with the child’s father … there’s options !!!

Just be prepared for it, maybe take note of resources available for single moms, save some money for her if you can.

I think she is giving him grace, she couldve left him, but she didnt. She doesnt want to feel this way towards him, but she does. Thats why shes asking for help on what to do to be able to move forward.

I believe it depends on the province. I know BC is starting 10$ a day daycare but not every daycare is part of the program yet.

For story 3 I feel like OP is just trying cause problems at this point. She admitted that he did everything, he groveled, said sorry, and made up to her several times. Why can’t we allow men a little grace? Women freak out so much sometimes that they want to get rid of the pregnancy…but the world ends because the man says “do you think this is what I wanted?” He had a freak out, that’s obvious by the way he made up for it. OP probably does need couples therapy because the relationship doesn’t seem like it’s bad at all besides the one off comment.

One other thing I wanted to touch on was I've never understood weaponized incompetence. Like I've never liked the idea that I could give somebody ammo to ever speak bad on my name in any capacity. I've just always arrived for the goal that everybody in my life would be able to believe and know that they can lean on me(which can be a double edged sword sometimes). But in all honesty how can you feel good about yourself if you're not giving out your best into the world.

It was just a thought I had when your mom said the part about depression for the last story and Morgan kind of touched on it, but it's a quote I believe I coined that covers many situations like this; "We are the forges of our own destiny. At a certain point we can no longer push the burden of accountability onto our trauma."

My country also has free health care but that doesn't include day care for children (which does makes sense in some way)

maybe we could do some kind of fundraiser for the mom in the last story? divorce is expensive, housing, childcare, I mean, y'all know. you covered it already. my friend was in a similar situation though (child free thank God) and it is SO hard to leave men like that. I'm immensely proud of op. lots of women don't because their partners aren't physically harming them, but it really kills them to stay. anyways, thought it was worth asking since you always seem so down for these kind of things!
