I related to the third story. I had just lost a job due to seniority and I was really bummed. I ended up getting another job quite quickly and my girlfriend (now wife) bought me a bouquet of flowers. I was so touched. She’s a keeper

The last story really hit me hard 😢 I turned 30 this year and I sat at home and cried on my couch because my boyfriend at the time (we’ve since broken up) didn’t do anything with or for me. It’s so true that a little something like flowers goes a long way at making someone feel seen.

My take on story 1: the husband can’t handle feeling any bad emotions, so his reaction to the most stressful event in his life, his wife giving birth for the first time, is to minimize the issue to relieve his own anxiety. It’s pure denial but feels evil because he abandoned his wife emotionally when she needed him the most. It’s hard to believe someone could suck so much. So sad :(
