This is posting about Patreon and Discord server. The important content is only a small part of this long post, which mean this posting is a little unnecessarily long, so what?😏 Thank you🤣
I am planning to run a Discord Server soon, Patreon sponsors will be able to use the Discord server.
Discord server is not intended to be used as a community space(Of course, some communication channel will be created), I will use Discord to upload fulll resolution files(especially Supporter tier files).
I think Patreon is not suitable for managing many files, it's hard to read, and it's very inconvenient to post, and Important thing, Patreon website is really hard to communicate with patrons(Bad apps, Bad website Convenience). I sometimes feel Patrons supporting me, but their ideas aren't getting through to me.
In addition, you guys helping me with my sponsorship, and I provide paintings to thank you guys, but I recently found that my posts are being archived on some internet website, those are reducing the value of your sponsorship. Surprisingly, I found that my archiving post page on one site had 20 times more users than my Patrons😒
The image file will be leaked no matter how I try to block it and It will be published somewhere anyway, and honestly, I didn't feel very offended by the problem about this because I want to show my painting to many people rather than making money, but your donations are really precious than anything else for me and I'll do what I can to maintain the value of your sponsorship.
Patreon sponsorship is helping me continue to paint. But that doesn't mean I'm living off the money I'm earning from Patreon.
I want tell you guys about my story a little.
My family have some issue for long time since I was little kid, so I live in the rent house by myself, and Patreon's donation is not even a fraction of the minimum amount for me to live in. I'm only living on the money I've saved up as a part-time job for the past few years. Nevertheless, the reason why your donations are so precious is that the donations you send me give me value to my paintings.
I have been painting for a long time, my drawing skills were terrible, and I couldn't get a job at any company or make money with using my drawing skills. I haven't earned even 100 followers on social media for years. No one cared for my painting, and I was despaired from it. At one time I quit painting out of despair that no one was interested in my paintings.
But eventually I started drawing again because I just want to not give up, That's when I started Twitter and there was so many people started looking at my paintings so much more than I expect. Since I've had a lot of Twitter followers, I've carefully started posting my paintings on Patreon, and one or two of them have started sending me donations. My paintings are starting to be valued little by little, I've made the courage to grab a pen again, and I'm spending everything I have for this.
You guys sponsoring me five or seven dollars each, but I feel a lot more value for sponsership than you can imagine. It is my driving force itself, and I could no longer just watch the value of your patronage go down.
I know there are definitely some Patrons who don't use/Dislike to use Discord, and I'm really sorry for them. But once I start using Discord, a lot of things will be much better.
I'm not going to make this change right away, and I'm going to open a Discord server and run a test for the time being. The same service will be provided to Patreon and Discord for about a month or two.
I`ll post about Discord again soon.(somehow I feel like I've said same as this before🤔)
