“This is a delightful surprise, Amelia.” Dumbledore opened his arms in welcome. He looked at the imposing woman who had swept into his office, his electric blue eyes staring at her unnervingly.
Amelia ignored the uncomfortable prickle at the back of her neck. She was a grown woman, at the top of her career; the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement but…
Dumbledore never failed to make her feel like she was a first-year student again, wet behind the ears and with no knowledge of how the world worked.
“Albus,” she murmured as she pulled a chair away from his expansive desk and sat down on it. “It’s been a while.”
“I don’t have much reason to visit the Ministry these days,” Dumbledore responded with a courteous bow. He pushed his slender fingers through his white beard and began to stroke it absentmindedly. “The Minister has made it very clear that I am not welcome.”
“If everyone the Minister doesn’t like stopped showing up the Ministry would be a very empty place,” Amelia said with a wry smile. “But I suppose other matters have your attention for now.”
“Are you here to arrest me? I’ve suspected it would happen for a while now but I never imagined Fudge would entrust you with the task,” Dumbledore sighed.
“Arrest you for what, Albus?”
“For the other matters?”
“I doubt the Minister knows. And even if he does, last I checked it was not illegal to run a secret club. Which is why being a Death Eater was and has never been a crime in and of itself,” Amelia pointed out.
“You think what I’m doing is no different to what Voldemort has done,” Dumbledore said softly.
“I think life would be easier for a lot of people if you agree to be the next Minister of Magic.”
“I have no interest in the position, Amelia. A fact that I’ve made clear several times in the past.”
“Then we have nothing more to talk about on this topic.” Amelia shrugged. She removed her monocle and gently wiped it clean with the edge of her sleeve before fixing it over her eye. “Katarina Karkaroff has approached me through a mutual friend. She seeks asylum. I am inclined to grant it. I need you to enroll her at Hogwarts.”
“Would this mutual friend be the same one who has decided to make Hogsmeade their home?”
“I’m not at liberty to discuss my sources,” Amelia said stiffly. If he had his secrets, she would damn well keep hers. She made a mental note to sweep Narcissa’s room and the parlor for snooping charms before their next meeting.
“Of course,” Dumbledore agreed politely. “But there will be questions. The High Inquisitor will be curious.”
“I’m sure you can handle Dolores.”
“Perhaps. But Hogwarts will not be any safer for her, Amelia. This castle is no longer safe from the dark clouds gathering over the horizon.”
“She’ll be safe here,” Amelia said with quiet confidence. She had seen the difference in Susan during their brief meeting in the castle grounds. She suspected Katarina would be harder to protect than her niece but if anyone could do it, it was Harry Potter. Even if half the rumors about him were true… she could understand why Voldemort was afraid of him. “And if she’s in just as much danger here as she is in the outside world, her new guardian and I agree she should finish her education. She is in the same year as my niece and it would be a pity if her father’s circumstances force her to drop out before she can give her OWLs.”
“Very well. You can bring her to the Great Hall at seven tomorrow. She will be sorted before breakfast, giving her ample time to move to her new House and get to her first class for the day. I will speak with Minerva and have her draw up a timetable for Katarina.”
Amelia sagged in her chair, tension she didn’t even know existed seeping out of her body. She had expected more of a fight. She doubted he was blind to her activities.
His next statement all but confirmed her suspicions.
“The past month has been an interesting one,” Dumbledore said quietly.
“Indeed. I’m trying to drum up support in Wizengamot to stem the damage from the Minister’s idiotic ideas.”
“I wasn’t talking about the Wizengamot, Amelia. I was talking about events here, in Hogwarts,” Dumbledore sighed and leaned back in his chair. “Did you know about your niece and Harry Potter?”
Amelia quirked an eyebrow. She forced herself to act calm. There was no way he knew about her deal with Sirius.
This is a fishing expedition, she reminded herself. Nothing more.
“I stay out of my niece’s love life, Albus. I think we’re both happier that way,” she said, forcing a smile. “From what she tells me, she is very happy with him. As long as that remains the case I see no reason to intervene.”
“I think that raises more questions than it answers, Amelia.”
“Why not let them be, Albus? Voldemort, politics… Ancient and Noble Houses. There’ll be time enough for that. Right now, they are simply two people in love. Let them enjoy that.”
“And what of Harry’s connection with Miss Patil and Miss Greengrass?”
“He isn’t the first powerful man to enjoy the company of a coven and he won’t be the last,” Amelia said with a shrug.
“A coven in this day and age?”
Amelia resisted the urge to snort.
“What are you afraid of, Albus?” Amelia challenged with a raised eyebrow. “The only reason they went out of fashion is because there’s barely anyone powerful enough to have a true coven. Grindelwald and Voldemort killed off most of the promising candidates,” she said, not bothering to hide the anger in her voice. Grindelwald had brought the Bones clan to its knees and Voldemort had nearly finished them off.
Somewhere deep down, she had never managed to overcome her resentment against the old Headmaster for his failure to act sooner. It threatened to bubble to the surface but she clamped down on it harshly.
She needed every vote in the Wizengamot for the fight ahead, no matter her personal feelings for the person behind the vote.
“Listen, Albus-” she leaned forward and adopted a conciliatory tone “- I know you probably think he’s a young student with too many responsibilities. The burden of having been a teacher for so long, I suppose. But I had a chat with him today and he’s a powerful young warlock. We need those. Desperately.”
“Now,” Amelia said before Dumbledore could speak. She was exhausted and in no mood for a philosophical discussion with the Headmaster. “I must take your leave.”
She gracefully pushed the chair away from the desk and stood, giving the Headmaster a tiny bow.
“Be careful, Amelia. Your comings and goings are not as discreet as you think they are,” Dumbledore murmured.
Amelia frowned.
“Was that a threa-”
“Just a warning,” Dumbledore murmured as if he had read her mind. “If I have noticed your comings and goings, you can be sure Voldemort’s spies have as well. You are in more danger than you realize.”
“I can take care of myself.”
“I would rather not put that to the test, Amelia.”
“I will be careful,” Amelia conceded. “Thank you,” she added, making another mental note. Dumbledore had a point, even if she did not like the way he had made it. Sirius was well-protected but she needed to warn Cyrus.
Narcissa was safe enough for the time being. She doubted Voldemort had the numbers to get to her.
“I will take your leave now,” she repeated.
“Before you go-” Dumbledore fished out a piece of paper from the clutter on his desk and held it out for her. “Please read this.”
Amelia reached out and plucked the scroll from his fingers. She unrolled it, her eyes quickly scanning the neat handwriting.
Number 12, Grimmauld Place.
“I know you have no desire to join the Order but as the secret keeper, I think it’s safe to share our location with you.”
“I know where this is,” Amelia said softly. “I’ve been to the house before.”
A long time ago, in another life.
“True, but the Fidelius would have prevented you from accessing it even though you knew its location. Now you can.”
“Why would you give me the location of the headquarters of your secret organization?”
“So you can meet Sirius safely. I know he chafes against what he thinks are unreasonable restrictions but he’s in more danger than he realizes.”
“Do you know something?”
“Nothing specific. Just that Voldemort has taken an interest in him. Not something conducive to a long life,” Dumbledore said with a sigh. “You can have your weekly meetings in the house.”
“He’s not going to like that,” Amelia muttered. She wasn’t too thrilled about the prospect of meeting under the watchful gaze of Order members either.
“My job right now is to keep him safe, Amelia. Voldemort is desperate to get to Harry. It’s only a matter of time before he realizes Sirius is the easiest way to do so. There is nothing godson and godfather won’t do for each other.”
“Why is he desperate to get to Harry?” Amelia asked, sensing an opening. The old man had slipped and she wondered if she could catch him off-guard and get some information out of him.
“If you were a Dark Lord, wouldn’t you be obsessed with someone you’ve failed to kill not once, not twice, but four times now?” Dumbledore asked smoothly.
“Fair.”
Amelia smiled. For a second, she had forgotten who she was dealing with.
“Goodnight, Madam Bones.”
“Goodnight, Headmaster.”
Amelia walked out of the office, shutting the door behind her. Albus had given her a lot to think about, none of which mattered at the moment.
The most pressing issue in front of her was Harry’s Coven and her niece’s role in it. It would require a delicate touch but she was determined to ensure that the oblivious couple saw what was obvious to everyone around them.
She almost envied Susan. To feel that rush of power, that connection with someone you knew inside and out…
Why is Dumbledore so afraid of a coven?
The quiet grinding of the gargoyle disappearing into the floor interrupted her train of thought. She smiled when she noticed Harry and Susan waiting for her in the corridor.
Susan was leaning against Harry. Harry had his lips pressed against her ear and was whispering something. Her niece’s face was red and she had a hand clamped over her mouth, trying her best to hold back a fit of giggles.
Her smile grew.
They were perfect for each other and she had to wonder how long it would take them to accept that.
Maybe it’s time to give them a tiny push.
Amelia smirked and walked up to the couple. Harry tensed at the sight of her standing in front of them and tried to pull away but Susan grabbed his hand and laced their fingers together to prevent him from leaving her side.
“Auntie.” Susan grinned despite her pink cheeks. “How was your meeting?”
“Like every other meeting with Dumbledore. Fruitful yet frustrating.”
“What about Katarina?” Harry asked.
“She will be sorted tomorrow. One can only hope that she isn’t a Slytherin,” Amelia said with a sigh, her good humor evaporating. Life was getting more complicated with every passing day. She missed the days when her biggest headache was Mundungus trafficking poor-quality cauldrons.
“If she is, she can just hang out with us in the Room of Requirement,” Susan said firmly.
“Daphne can look after her when she’s not with us,” Harry added.
“You might want to clear that with Miss Greengrass first,” Amelia smiled.
“Don’t worry. She will make sure Katarina is safe. All of us will. Beneath all those homicidal urges is a good person,” Harry smirked. “Don’t tell her I said that,” he added quickly.
“From what Miss Black has told me, Katarina will not appreciate your efforts. You won’t be able to use the same tactics you’ve employed with my niece.” Amelia’s eyes flickered to the arm that was wrapped around Susan’s shoulders. “I’m sorry to make your job harder than it already is but you might have to keep your distance.”
Harry blushed but did not pull away from Susan.
“Don’t worry,” he mumbled with pink cheeks. “I’m not looking for any more girlfriends. Real or otherwise. Besides, she looked like she’d stab me if I so much as tried to talk to her.”
“Well, you do seem to have a type, Mister Potter.”
“Yes. Cinnamon rolls and murder muffins,” Susan whispered theatrically. She giggled and bit her lip when Harry turned and pretended to glare at her.
Harry blushed. He coughed awkwardly and cleared his throat, his eyes flitting between aunt and niece.
“What does Voldemort want from the Department of Mysteries, Madam Bones?” he asked in an effort to change the topic.
“Let me worry about that, Harry.” Amelia sighed when she saw Harry open his mouth to argue. “I know you want to help and there are a lot of people who think you’re the only one who can defeat him… but right now the best way for you to help me is by keeping my niece and Katarina safe. Can you do that for me, Harry?”
Harry nodded confidently. Hogwarts was his home. The Marauder’s Map and his Cloak gave him insurmountable advantages when it came to protecting someone in the castle.
“Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to either of them,” Harry said, tightening his hold around Susan.
“I am counting on that. As a token of my appreciation, I have had a chat with the owner of Twilfitt’s. She’s an old friend.”
Harry stared at her, utterly confused.
“Susan told me about your clothing situation, Harry,” Amelia said kindly. “She’ll take you shopping this weekend, on me.”
“Madam Bones that is incredibly kind but-”
“Susie, make sure to get some formal robes. He will need them for Ministry functions,” Amelia interjected firmly. “I’m not taking no for an answer, Harry. Susie will take you shopping.”
“Thank you, Madam Bones,” Harry whispered, his voice choking with emotion.
“Sirius isn’t the only one who’s allowed to take care of you,” Amelia whispered. She reached out and gently pushed his messy black hair away from his glasses. “Let him have Quidditch. I’ll take care of the rest,” she said with a smile.
“Thank you, Madam Bones,” Harry repeated.
“And call me Amelia, darling.” Amelia spread her arms wide and pulled them both into a hug. “Take care and keep me updated.”
“Yes, Auntie,” Susan murmured.
Amelia pulled away and gently squeezed Harry’s shoulder before bending to kiss Susan’s cheek.
Harry and Susan waited until she had walked down the corridor and disappeared around the corner before relaxing.
“So, are we still getting hot chocolate?” Harry asked, slowly walking down the hallway with Susan. He deliberately kept a leisurely pace to allow Madam Bones to descend to the Atrium before them.
“Yes, please,” Susan smiled. She reached out and shyly grabbed Harry’s hand, lacing their fingers together. Hermione had told her the best way to fake something was to make it as real as possible. Which, she decided, meant pretending to be his girlfriend even when no one was watching.
That’s all this is, she told herself firmly. Nothing more.
“But we are not going to the kitchens,” she added firmly, tugging on his hand to prevent him from walking to the staircase that would have carried them down to the Atrium and subsequently, to the kitchens in the basement of the castle.
“I suppose we could call Dobby and ask him to fetch us some… that way Daph and Padma will be able to have some as well,” Harry murmured, his brow furrowed in thought. They were both so engrossed in each other that neither noticed they were still walking down the corridor.
“Oh, no. I’ll be making it for all of us. Dobby was kind enough to stock the kitchen in the Room of Requirement with a lot of staples and baking supplies for me,” Susan said happily.
“Susan you don’t have to-"
“I want to,” Susan interjected firmly. “That’s my love language… that’s what I love doing,” Susan corrected herself quickly. Her cheeks were maroon and she thanked her stars that it was too dark for him to notice. “I like cooking. I like playing house. I know it’s silly but my biggest dream has always been to be the perfect wife and mother.”
“It’s not silly. I’ve never had a real family. The closest I’ve gotten is the Weasleys but as good as they’ve been to me, they’ll always be my friend’s family. There are times when I fantasize about what my family would look like,” Harry admitted. “It’s a good ambition to have, Susie,” he whispered and squeezed her hand.
“So I can cook for you?”
“Not every meal. Your aunt will kill me if I’m the reason you fail your OWLs,” Harry laughed. “But I think I would love it if you cooked for us on the weekends.”
“Thank you!” Susan squealed and leaned up on her toes to kiss his cheek. Her eyes widened when she realized what she had done, her excitement turning to fear when Harry froze.
“I’m sorry!” she exclaimed, realizing she had broken their agreement on kisses without making sure he was okay with it. “I didn’t mean to. I got excited and carried away-”
“Ssh! Quiet!” Harry ordered harshly.
Susan shut her mouth with a snap, her blush deepening at being chastened like a naughty schoolgirl. Heat pooled in her belly and a spike of fear and arousal raced up her spine at the scolding, confusing her even further.
“Listen,” Harry whispered.
“… and that bitch Greengrass…” Malfoy’s faint but unmistakable drawl could be heard from the other end of the corridor.
Susan froze as well, all color leaving her face as she turned as white as a sheet.
Harry quickly looked around them, considering his options. They were technically out after hours and Madam Bones was no longer around to save them.
Running back wasn’t an option. There was no way they’d make it to the staircase or Dumbledore’s office before he was close enough to spot them. The darkness kept them safe for now but its protection would only last for a few seconds, if that.
Harry pulled Susan into the closest broom closet, gently pushing her against the wall and whirling around to charm the door to make it seem like it was stuck. He added a silencing charm for good measure.
“Harry…” Susan whispered. She was trembling and her eyes were squeezed shut. “What if he-”
“He won’t.” Harry slowly turned around to face Susan. “He won’t,” he repeated.
“What if he does?” Susan asked, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood.
“Then we’re just like every other couple currently making out in a broom closet or empty classroom in this castle. The worst he can do is give us detention. Even cleaning Snape’s cauldrons will be bearable if you’re there,” Harry said with a quiet chuckle. He reached out and gently tucked the strand of hair that had gotten free from her plait behind her ear. “Getting caught will just make sure he can’t tell people our relationship is fake anymore. After all, is a Hogwarts relationship even real if you haven’t made out in a broom closet at least once?”
Susan slowly opened her eyes and immediately regretted it. The blush returned to her cheeks when she realized that the cramped space of the closet meant that she was pressed against his firm chest and had no room to pull away. The top of her head tickled his chin and even the slightest of movements brushed her body against his. She squeaked when the back of her hand ran across the impressive bulge under his robes and forced herself to be as still as a statue.
Was he hard? Was he hard because of her? He had to be, given the size…
Susan forced herself to pull her mind out of the gutter.
Her eyes widened when she saw Harry pull his robes over his head. His crisp white shirt clung to firm chest and abdomen and she had to suppress a sudden and irrational urge to trace the contours of his muscles.
“What are you doing?” Susan rasped, licking her dry lips.
“He’s pulling open the doors to closets and classrooms. Didn’t you hear the door slam shut?”
Susan’s breath hitched. The heady mixture of fear and arousal was making her dizzy and for some reason, impossibly horny.
“Don’t worry. I’ve charmed the door to our closet. It’ll seem like it’s stuck,” Harry murmured. “But in case he does manage to get it open we have to sell our makeout session. When was the last time someone snogged in robes?” Harry asked, dropping his robes to the floor.
Susan nodded and reached up to undo hers with trembling fingers.
“Let me,” Harry whispered. He pulled them over her head with impossible gentleness and Susan shivered when his calloused fingers rubbed against her cheek on their way to pull the robes free from her. He dropped them on top of his own and turned to smile at her. “There. Now we’re ready.”
“No, we’re not,” Susan mumbled shyly. “This isn’t what people who’ve been snogging in a broom closet look like.”
“Have a lot of experience, do we?” Harry asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No! NO!” Susan shook her head emphatically. “I haven’t kissed anyone… well, hadn’t kissed anyone before you kissed me by the lake,” she mumbled. She didn’t know why it was important that he knew that fact. Maybe she wanted him to know she had held out for him, but that was utterly irrational! A month ago she didn’t believe she’d ever have a relationship with him!
“Hannah tells me about the couples she catches on her rounds,” she continued quickly and before he could speak.
“Oh?” Harry smiled. “And what do these couples look like?”
In too deep to back out now, Susan reminded herself as she summoned the courage to continue.
“They… uh… they have loosened ties. Unbuttoned clothes or sometimes no shirts at all. Even the girls,” Susan whispered, her eyes wide. “Smudged lipstick and eyeliner. Hickeys…”
“Well, as our very smart friend told us; the best way to sell a lie is to make it as close to the truth as possible,” Harry murmured. He took a step towards her, effectively pinning her between the wall and his body. Susan stayed as still as a statue and let him push his finger into her yellow and black tie. He tugged on it, freeing it until the long tie hung loosely around her neck.
She looked up at him with wide, unblinking eyes the entire time.
“Susan?”
“Yes, sir?” she asked, unable to help herself.
Harry simply smiled and reached out to caress her pink cheek with the back of his hand.
“Do you want to loosen my tie? Otherwise, people might think you were snogging yourself,” he teased, his emerald eyes sparkling playfully. He had never felt more alive, more wanted than he did in that moment. He had a purpose, someone to care for, someone to fight for and protect…
Susan obeyed his order without hesitation. Once his tie hung loosely around his neck she withdrew her arms and lowered her gaze, her mind telling her it was the right and respectful thing to do.
Respectful?!
She didn’t want him to be respectful! She wanted him to pin her against the wall and hook her legs around his waist. She needed him to whisper filthy things in her ear as he plunged-
“Susan?!”
“Hmm?!” Susan asked, startled out of her daydream.
“Are you alright? Your breathing…” Harry murmured, his brow furrowing as he concentrated on her heavy breathing.
“It’s stuffy in here,” Susan mumbled nervously.
“Yeah. I was saying I think we need to unbutton our shirts as well. Not all the way. Just a couple of buttons, if that’s alright with you?”
I want you to rip my shirt open and wrap your lips around my stiff, aching-
“Yes!” Susan squeaked. She concentrated on the voice in her head but try as she might, she couldn’t get it to shut up.
“Tell me when to stop,” Harry murmured. He reached out, his nimble fingers toying with the top button of her blouse.
One button.
His finger brushed against her soft skin and she could no longer hold back her needy moan. Her knees were weak and she leaned into his arms for support.
Two buttons.
A hint of her lacy purple bra was showing. It was the moment. She had to stop him or he’d-
Three buttons.
The slight hitch in his breath let her know they had gone too far to stop. Her heavy breasts were in plain view, the creamy mounds barely contained by the flimsy piece of lace she had decided to wear that night. Her pink nipples pebbled and pushed through the thin fabric, and she could feel his gaze on them even though she had no way of knowing with her closed eyes.
Four buttons.
Her blouse hung limply off her shoulders, covering her body in name only. Her hands ghosted over her flat belly, frowning at the slight softness there.
Time to lay off the cook-
“You’re beautiful,” Harry rasped, his hand moving to rest on top of hers on her stomach.
The fifth button.
Rolling her shoulders to shrug the blouse off felt like the most natural thing in the world. She had to be bare for his gaze, to let him see her however he desired.
“I dream about you, Harry Potter,” Susan whispered, still keeping her eyes shut. She wouldn’t open them. Not now. Not while there was a risk that this was just another dream.
“I’m not pretending anymore.”
“I don’t think I ever was.” Susan reached out and slipped two fingers in the gap between two buttons. It almost felt disrespectful to undress him without permission. She decided she wouldn’t unless he ordered her to. Her fingers ran over his tanned skin, gently tracing a long scar. “How did you get this?”
“An accident with garden shears.”
The Harry in her dreams didn’t have any scars. That was why, she realized, he hadn’t ever felt truly real. This Harry was real. This Harry was hers. She slowly opened her eyes and giggled.
“You’re awfully clumsy for someone who’s the best Seeker Hogwarts has had for a generation.”
“Actually, my quick reflexes saved me,” Harry answered with a shrug. “My uncle chucked them at me because he felt I wasn’t pruning the bushes fast enough. I dodged them so they didn’t hit my head but-” Harry rested his free hand on her fingers and shrugged again.
“I overheard you telling Padma you have to live with them for at least one week every year.”
“Yeah. Why?”
“Can I come with you this time? I don’t want to live in a house by myself. I already know Auntie is going to make her office her home until Voldemort is defeated.” Susan paused and blushed. Not even Daphne had made such a request and she was actually bonded to him. But she had a mission that needed her presence in that house. Vernon Dursley would pay. “If you’ll have me.”
“I’ll have you. I’ll always have you,” Harry whispered, his heart hammering in his chest. “Living there is not pleasant.”
“Doesn’t matter. Everything I’ll need is right in front of me,” Susan declared boldly. She pushed her free hand under the straps of her bra and pushed them down her arms, letting her heavy breasts bounce free. The bold, uninhibited voice in her head was now in the driver’s seat and she knew exactly what she wanted.
“Being with me comes at a price, Susie. Malfoy is just the beginning. There’ll be-”
“I would have stood in front of those shears to protect you,” Susan whispered fiercely.
“I wouldn’t have let you. I’ll never let you get hurt.”
“And that’s why you’re the Gryffindor and I’m a Hufflepuff. Because when you say that, I believe you,” Susan said, more serious than she had ever been with him.
“What do you want, Susie?”
“I want to be yours. I want to serve.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t know,” Susan whispered. “All I know is that when you order me to do something I get this funny feeling in my belly that I never want to lose.”
“Outside in the hallway… it was the first time I did something like that.”
“Order someone to do something?”
“Mhm,” Harry nodded. Malfoy’s voice was getting fainter by the second but he wasn’t in a hurry to leave. By the looks of things, neither was Susan.
“Did you like it?”
“It made me feel powerful,” Harry admitted.
“That doesn’t answer my question. Did you like it?
“Yes. I loved it,” Harry whispered.
“Then order me, sir.” Susan pulled her hand away from his chest and withdrew, awaiting his instructions.
“Kneel,” Harry hissed. His beautiful green eyes darkened a shade.
Susan ignored the current of fear shooting up her spine and gracefully dropped to her knees. Her breath hitched as she came face to face with the impossibly large bulge in his trousers. She reached out, unable to control herself. Her fingers ran over the rough wool and she gasped when she felt his manhood twitch under her palm.
Harry pushed his hand in her hair and guided her lips to his crotch, letting her trace the outline of his manhood with her lips. Without realizing it, his actions were an acceptance of her offer of service. The bracelet on his arm appeared unbidden and the third golden ring on it glowed brightly. A pink leash made from pure energy emerged from it and made its way to Susan’s neck, wrapping around her throat.
Susan smiled as the makeshift collar wrapped around her throat. Her body trembled with the surge of power and the onslaught of Harry’s emotions. Happiness, affection, lust. He wanted her. Oh, he wanted her so badly…
She popped open the button of Harry’s trousers, humming happily.
She was finally where she belonged.

Sirius and Amelia are the adoptive parents Harry deserved. I haven't forgotten about Padma and her bonding! As you can see, she won her bet! So she gets what she wants and it relates to her bonding. Trust me, she won't be disappointed Susan bonded before her. I love the idea of fate and magic having its own mind, especially in this fic. I am also going to try and make the relationships in the Coven feel as natural as possible and the magic of the ritual will give nudges to make sure Harry ends up with who he's meant to be with!

So even though Susan is the second person to complete the binding (beating Padma), she is assigned to the 3rd ring position. Is that an oversight? Is the 2nd position reserved for Padma for some reason? Or some other significance to the order?
