🕑 Added 2017-03-01 21:01:15 +0000 UTC I didn't get much new modeling work done on Starship Awesome last month, owing to numerous real world interruptions. However, I did manage to snag a free afternoon to mess around with some special FX concepting. This was an attempt to see how close I could get to a classic Glen Larson "ship in space" shot. 2-point lighting setup, star filter on the engines, some film grain and blur, and a touch of deinterlace and chromatic abberation for that dubbed from videotape look.

It's amazing how damaging an image with noise and blur can actually make it look more realistic.

It's nice the way you listed all the things that alter the sharpness of the image; now, when we spring for the "Digitally Enhanced" CD set we'll know what alterations were left out. *^_^*
