Mystery Pool

Both, for no immediately apparent reason, strangely round.....
This is a first play with an alternative watercolour painted style...
(You know me... always messing about and creating chaos!)
I fancied making a simpler map with no inking and less fine detailing to see how it looked, and this is the result.
I would love to hear what you think of it :-)

That is a great idea... I am forever forgetting to rough up my roads! I will see if I can manage to edit this one without it looking weird. Otherwise... BIG note to self for future battlemaps :-) I made all the little tracks through the forest where all the Crimson trees are growing - In my mind they are connected to the ponds.. perhaps when sap or leaves is gathered from the trees and placed into one of the ponds, then something happens to change the property of the water in the other pond (given time for the effect to seep over there)
I wish there were a recognisable road/cart tracks in the diagonal clear space above (what I imagine is) the pool-obscuring tree line. But I can imagine that. I personally really like the paint style on this. It gives my imagination a little extra room to roam. I also like the suggestions of pathing throughout. My group will immediately wonder why the paths are there, who made them, does their layout give any hints as to what the pool is, etc.
