Round 9 development is going smoothly. The current progress is 70%.
Both PCs are rendering 24/7 non-stop. I will keep using my friend's laptop until I finish this update.
This update will be the biggest I've ever done with lots of new content and Improvements.
First of all, I decided to split the game into two Seasons. (Round 9 is the last update of the First Season)
After releasing this update, I'll start working on Season 2 and focus on adding more animations and improving the quality of the renders.
Phone Messages:
A new messages app has been added to the phone! (implemented in all rounds)
You'll receive text messages from LI's and other characters. The text messages are stored, so you can click on your phone icon, open the messages app, and read them anytime you want.
Also, I've added notifications when you receive a new text message, unlock a new phone wallpaper, unlock a new gallery scene, etc.
Animations:
Renpy engine is not the best option when it comes to animations. I used to render the animation as a frame sequence then code it in renpy.
It's a great way to control the animation, but at the same time, it makes renpy freeze for 1-2 sec.
With Round 9, everything changes. I rendered all the animations to Webm (a single video file), which means a much smoother experience with no freezing.
After finishing Season 2, I will convert all Season 1 animations to Webm.
Season 2:
It's too early to talk about Season 2 when Season 1 is not yet complete, but I just wanted to let you know that I have updated the characters' textures, especially private parts ^^
