I've been following the travel ban the past few months and this news must have been such a relief for thousands of people. I'm glad you'll finally be able to see your mom, and what an amazing camper, with the best name!! However, not to sound too pessimistic, but they haven't actually announced which date in November the ban will be lifted, so please check up on that before your mom tries to travel but the ban is still on! Hope it all turns out well in the end for both of you and that she's indeed able to see you on your birthday <3

That's excellent! Yay for being able to see your mom! I'm also going to get to see my mom on Nov. 1st, as it happens, so it shall be an excellent day of mom-hugs. :) My partner's mom was able to come out to visit us last month, and yes, much happy emotions when they saw each other. (She reports that her mom went to the bathroom at the airport, and they did the whole "Mama!"-running-together thing all over again after she came back out.)

Gratz! We are so happy for you, and know what it’s like. We live 2 hours from my 95 year old mother-in-law and we went around 15 months without being close. Rough and depressing stuff. Lots of ups and downs for you these past couple of years and it’s wonderful that you’ll get to recharge yourself with mom hugs!
