I Read this Thinly Veiled Touhou Fanfiction Aloud in Class & My Teacher Liked It!
🕑 Added 2021-12-05 03:20:29 +0000 UTCAN: I wrote a flash fiction for class. Naturally, I wrote fanfiction of Kaguya/Mokou. My teacher liked it when I read it aloud to class. I am so lucky he's so cool with that, but he stopped me before I got to the murder/suicide bit.
My tastes in romance are fucking whack. Anyways, this is just the rough draft. I'm goign to be beefing it up later and publishing it as a strange... parallax to AGT. It can be read as a standalone though.
Enjoy this fiction.
I didn't peak, but I sure as hell hit a damn high note in life when I wrote and read this fanfic aloud to my entire english class and got praised for it by my teacher.

Moon’s Dissipation and Waning Smoke
Earth’s end was just as nuclear winter was predicted. Desolate desert all around, no signs of life to be had, the last living beings adjourned upon a small hill, one of the last few landmarks not flattened nor raised into dead level by the last wrathful war of humanity.
“‘Sup, Moon,” the white-haired woman greeted the black-haired lady sitting up on the small hill, gazing up at the shattered moon.
“Hello yourself, Smoke,” the black-haired lady smiled, turning her attention away from the moon to the only other being upon ashen Earth.
Smoke took a seat behind Moon, leaning back to back, and mused, “Just the two of us now, eh?”
“Indeed,” Moon tittered, leaning her head backwards onto Smoke’s shoulder, letting both maiden’s black and white hair mingle together, “I always thought I was selfish, but it seems as if the mortal’s lust for war eclipsed even my indulgences.”
“Philosophy ain’t my strong suit,” Smoke grunted before lifting a bag up, “I brought snacks, though. Last ones I could find.”
“Ooh! Gimme!” Moon giggled, snatching the bag and running away. As she ran, Moon scurried around the bag, “Oh-ho! Chips! BBQ flavor too!”
Chasing after Moon, Smoke shouted, “Hey! I brought those to share!”
Turning around, Moon ceased all pretense of being a lady, sticking a tongue out as she pulled down one eyelid to taunt, “Too bad!”
Stomping to a stop, Smoke clenched her fists, growling, “Why, I oughtta--”
“You oughtta . . . hmm?” Moon murmured. Moon dropped the precious bag of snacks off to the side in anticipation. Spreading her arms out, Moon opened an embrace that almost seemed loving.
“KILL YOU!” Smoke shouted with murder in mind, and leaping forward, she did just that as she placed two hands on Moon’s throat and squeezed. Choking Moon to death seemed like a good way to start the night off. That was the plan at least until Smoke felt two hands slide under her shirt. As if in the throes of sexual passion, Moon clawed away at Smoke’s skin, tearing away pieces of muscle. Pain was familiar though, and the addicting pain only focused Smoke’s strength.
At least until Moon heaved her stomach and toppled Smoke onto her side, disrupting the choke. Moon then began striking at Smoke, laughing as if she was a child at play with her favorite toy, instead of pulverizing the only other living thing left on earth. Bone cracked, blood splattered, Moon and Smoke lost themselves in loving violence and hateful pleasure.
Rolling to and fro, changing who was on top and who was on bottom, so did the two immortals lose themselves in the ecstasy of humanity’s most intimate and innate nature. Eventually, the murderous congress stopped and the two settled into the afterglow.
“Oh, that was a glorious one!” Moon laughed, “You snapped my spine!” Indeed, Moon’s legs faced the wrong direction upon her torso, but immortality’s status quo quickly set that to rights.
“And you snapped my neck!” Smoke snapped back, but she also laughed as her own neck snapped back into place. Flesh melted together and soon the scars of this conflict, like all the previous ones, would disappear. Such was the impermanence of immortality.
“Turnabout is fair play, my dear Smoke,” Moon retorted, sitting up, “It was quite painful when you began hitting me with my own arm. Not the hitting bit, but more the terrible joke you repeated incessantly.”
Sitting up, Smoke stretched her neck even as she complained, “Oi! The ‘Why you hitting yourself’ joke is a classic for a reason!”
“True, true, but it’s one of those things where it’s more fun to be the instigator than the instigated,” Moon acknowledged before scooting over, rubbing her cheek against Smoke’s, “How’d you like the ‘got your nose’ bit though!?”
“It hurt! You literally tore my nose off!”
“And …?”
“...It was kind of funny,” Smoke turned her face away.
“Hah!” Moon tittered, leaning in to wheedle, “Are you blushing!?”
“Sh-shut up!” Smoke stammered, crossing her arms in a huff.
“I hate you.”
“Fuck you, too.”
“...On to our last meal?”
“Yeah.”
Opening the bag of chips, Smoke held the bag and they began silently sharing, taking turns to savor the last meal on earth.
“Remember when the moon was whole?” Smoke murmured.
“I remember when there were two,” Moon sighed.
“You’re fucking ancient,” Smoke grumbled, “Makes me wonder why you ever left, Princess.” When there was no immediate answer, Smoke turned and asked with concern uncharacteristic and gruff so familiar, “You okay?”
Having lost her ever-present smile, Moon murmured, “You shouldn’t have had to endure time like this. You’re too young, and you weren’t made for this and--OW!” Moon rubbed her forehead, having just been karate-chopped by Smoke, “What was that for!?”
Chewing on her cheek, Smoke ducked her head and grunted, “None of that crap. I don’t regret drinking that elixir. Not if it meant I got to kill you for eternity.”
Silent for a moment, Moon draped herself over Smoke and whispered, “Eternity ends tonight for us, silly Smoke. Not much of an eternity when it ends.”
“...Eh, it was fun while it lasted,” Smoke smiled, shifting out of her button-up shirt, leaving her chest naked and open for the world. The half-filled bag of chips tumbled onto the ground as Smoke faced Moon.
“Yes,” Moon murmured as she also undressed, smile returning softer yet so much more honest. yes, it was.”
Leaning into one another, each of them placed a hand under the other’s left rib cage, and pierced into one another’s chest, searching for a heart to grasp.
“Hey, Moon?” Smoke asked, lightly grabbing Moon’s heart.
“Yes?” Moon coughed wetly, her hand doing the same to Smoke’s heart.
“I love you,” Smoke murmured, closing her eyes and leaning in to place her mouth upon Moon’s.
“Oh,” Moon sighed fondly, eternal smile now tainted loving red, “ now you finally say it.”
There was a final kiss, a mutual squeeze, and that empty earth is just a bit emptier now. The only thing that could kill an immortal is another one, and now all that remains of immortal love is the echo of twinned last gasps. Holding one another’s hearts, that eternally rising smoke has finally reached the distant moon.
