Dev Update - Netcode
🕑 Added 2018-12-14 02:28:42 +0000 UTCSorry I've been silent for a while. I am working hard on Blazing Strike, but mostly not related to artwork these days. As the image suggests, I have started working on netcode and am currently experimenting with number of them, including GGPO.
I have always thought GGPO would be the best netcode solution for Blazing Strike, but after getting in touch with the creator (it was pretty hard to get in contact with him btw), I have com to know that the cost of its license is a bit higher than what I have expected... *sigh* The upside is that I can now test out GGPO with its SDK (thanks to the creator for sharing) before making a decision.
I also have started developing my own custom netcode using Steamworks (for Steam version only obviously), so I guess I can make a decision after trying out both solutions. GGPO would ease the pain of porting the game to different platforms, but we will see.............
Have a Happy Christmas season!
