Systems of total control will fail. All the examples you gave made me think of FFX, Yu Yevon and the whole religious system.

While I love these new adaptations I do think the David Lynch version is somewhat unfairly maligned. Crazy though it is, it has a lot to recommend it. Sting in his space-pants is not one of them, however😀
