I didn't post last week & this is why.

But the day we arrived the strangest thing happened. I was hit with overwhelming sadness and I couldn't shake it. I've been suffering from bad anxiety for majority of this trip but not depression, I thought I had left that behind when I left Australia but here I was face to face with my old friend.
So here I was in the magical land of Pai and all I wanted to do was sleep simply because my heart hurt too much to be awake.
Depression sucks and it can takes the front seat without you even realising at times. Everybody us different in the way they experience these emotions and how you find your way out but here is what I'm currently working on to manage this darkness of mine.
1. Journaling - I carry around my diary with me and literally write what ever is on my mind. This helps me take on a different perspective of my thoughts.
2. Meditation - Depression takes over and I find I begin the lose control of my thoughts also known as the 'monkey mind' so I've set myself a goal of sitting for 5 minutes 3 x a week.
3. Movement - Movement to me is another form of discipline just as meditation. I would rather do ANYTHING else and my mind will come up with every excuse in the book not to do it but I'm currently encouraging myself to do 10 minutes of movement after my meditation.

I'm with you 100% but of course it's much easier said then done isn't it. But day by day I am learning to give myself the space I need to heal 🖤

perhaps controversial but don't be guilted into thinking you must have a good time on vacation
