Back to work!

Had a lot of rest and lifestyle changes and health is now back on track! No need for maintenance meds and I just got to keep things the way I do things recently.
That said, I already started working last week, fixed some existing bugs and now currently working on the tilesets and stages. We'll finally be able to leave and transition to areas soon!
Some of the elements shown above are the debug and backend process. They will then be split and reshaped later on to accommodate the new areas.
I will be following the way I did stages in the old flash version so there will be no need to risk too much stuff but some sprites will inevitably be needed to be manually upscaled and adjusted to the current ratio.
I will have something ready soon! Maybe end of January...
if I get to pull it off sooner!
I made the statement above as big as I can.
Anyway it will require game save systems and complex systems that needs to be in the game to function. I remember mentioning last time and here's the pasta:
- Tiles.
Aside from the water freezing mechanic, the current tiles needs an overhaul for Godot 4.3, though it was already successfully done, the change will speed up map making by reducing the needed tiles from 47 to 15, so I'll need to redraw the current tile-set for this. I already have this working in the game with placeholder tiles btw. [Here is an external link explaining how it works]
- Trees, walls, encapsulation.
We will need rooms and walls, just like back in the old flash version. And with that we will also need:
- Transitions.
When transitioning, basically the world RESETS. And we will need to carry over data to the next scene / room including Siggy's hearts, gold, position etc. This seem simple, but one error can possibly break the game, so I'm gonna thread this one slowly because the amount of data I see transferring is very bug prone.
- Traps and puzzles.
They will be back. Should be simpler to do compared to flash versions.
- Day and Night Cycles.
Nothing too fancy here, but we will have a simple tint the screen one as some enemies like the Ganker and Male slime will only spawn at night time.
- Saves.
Saving player state and progress.
- Upgrades.
As mentioned above, we need to have progression and ways to spend gold on, so elemental upgrades, player upgrades, powerups etc.
I plan to finish all of these in a month or two in this order. I can finish this list in a month except for the upgrades, but I'm listing it there anyway in case there's a miracle that everything went faster than expected.
