New Updates to Seven-Part Pact
🕑 Added 2025-01-14 22:09:27 +0000 UTCHi all, happy new year. I've got a ton of stuff going on, and amongst them is my continuous tinkering with Seven Part Pact, my strange and enigmatic Wizardgame. I've been working on a new update for 3 months now, and I've been putting off posting that update because I've needed to make various changes. Rather than delay further, I figured — fuck it, here's what I've got.
If you're a Rapscallion or Tatterdemalion, this link should work.
3.25.01 has all the following changes to it:
Draft 3.25.01:
Renamed Anchorite to Sage.
Removed materials from each Wizard's codex (for future expansions) to assist in base game length.
Added flavor text to all spell entries (barring a few, that I'm still working on…).
Adjusted Necromancer Watching the Stars.
Added additional temples to the Hierophant's Domain.
Heavily reworked the Warlock's Domain, with sequentially-operating Nobles, rules for Civil War, and hidden Secrets.
Reworked the Mariner's Domain Game (again!).
Added Syndicates and Accomplices to the Faustian's Domain.
Rewrote the Sorcerer's Domain Game entirely (again!).
Added Ages of the Past to the Sorcerer's Codex.
Changed Sorcerer to Moon and Sage to Sun.
Removed spells: Transform into Object/Beast/Landscape, Creation of Skins, Creation of Vestments, Navigation, Legerdemain, Creation of Arcane Texts, Creation of Transportation (to be added back later).
Added new spells: Murmuration, Petrification, True Transformation, Creation of Shifting Vestments, Creation of Rings, Intimation, Creation of Musical Instruments, and the Secret Name of Beasts.
Draft 3.25.01 does NOT have the following:
I haven't had the time to make a new Materials google slide for play. I've been mostly playtesting in person, and so it hasn't really come up for me, and there's a few things the new mechanics do that really strain at Google Slides's (already very strained) functionality.
I've removed certain parts I plan to update later. This includes Age of Dominion and a handful of spells. I'll put some of them back in at some point, once I actually work on them in the main draft.
It doesn't have the Innovation Stickers you put into the Grimoire. Whoops! I forgot those! Chalk their absence up to a general absence of play materials, and I'll work on getting those done over the next few months.
All in all, this might not be quite enough to play without any aid, but it's enough that you can read and (if you have experience making online tools or playing 7PP already) you can jury-rig something together. Later this year (I hope!) I'll have materials ready for a proper round of playtesting, with forms for feedback and such. But I anticipate this will be the last version for at least another 3-4 months.
Keep an eye on this Patreon. I should have big exciting news coming in the next few weeks.

So exciting! I've been out of the loop for a bit, but looking forward to a reread :)
