I know this can seem a bit confusing, but the big reveal shall happen in the next page which should help slot all of the narrative jigsaw pieces together.
Maybe, I should be more direct with the plot in future, rather than make something that needs deduction to follow... I may have failed by making the clues enigmatic and the plot too convoluted.
I'll put a nice summary snippet in before the plot really pushed forward and the MC is out in the wilds, just to ensure people know what has been happening.

Haha, you're telling me! As you said; the plot always makes sense to you, the author, as you have all the contextual knowledge. Translating and delivering this knowledge for plot advancement can certainly be a tricky tightrope act of divulging too little or too much information.

I appreciate when a writer allows me, the reader, to deduce things instead of hand-feeding it from the start. I have felt intrigued page after page. I love what is revealed on this page, some kind of shared fate thing of an unlikely pair. I also understand why they have eye patches. I think you're playing it absolutely right. Be subtle early in the story, and eventually drop more hints until you spell it out for everyone who hasn't figured things out yet. But what a unique and interesting story you've created. Can't wait for more!

Ain't that a relatable feeling, lol. Judging how intuitive one's writing is... IS DIFFICULT. You already know everything after all
