I don't trust piston engines in helicopters, never will. It just doesn't seem right to have an engine that can stop instantly, autorotation or not.

A lucky guy Robert! One of my long time dreams was (I’m now 66, so it ain’t gonna happen!) to own my own Robinson some day... I’d spent a summer (1981) blasting around the woods and mountains of the central southern interior of Beautiful British Columbia in Bell Jet Rangers. The best part was flying in one of them birds with the chief pilot for Okanogan Helicopters at the time... a ‘retired’ US Air Force pilot that had flown many missions in ‘Nam... showed me some CRAZY manoeuvres and things I never new the laws of physics allowed! Loved your Not a Car November series... it’s showed another side to you, and also a reason I became a Patron!
